Maintenance Technician

Brookings Property Maintenance (BPM) is seeking a Maintenance Technician. BPM is a full-service property management company located in Brookings, SD.
The Maintenance Technician is tasked with performing general/preventive maintenance and repairs on all physical structures and certain equipment as well as grounds maintenance in compliance with established safety rules, policies and procedures. In addition, completing repairs such as, but not limited to carpentry, light plumbing, light electrical, etc.
As a member of the Brookings Property Maintenance Team, you can expect to:
- Complete daily assigned work orders in a timely and professional manner
- Preform minor building, electrical, painting and plumbing repairs
- Snow removal, both manually and with use of snow removal equipment
- Occasional equipment maintenance
Knowledge & Skills Requirements for this role:
- Demonstrate ability to work independently and perform quality work in accordance with defined procedures within established deadlines
- Demonstrate ability to interact effectively and professionally with coworkers, residents, service workers and others
- Denotes exceptional customer service, highly motivated and positive with great attention to detail
- Maintain a clean and safe work area
- Able to be “on-call” 24-hours for one week at a time on a rotating basis and live within 15 minutes of Brookings
- Have a valid driver’s license
What we offer:
- Health Insurance (75% company paid)
- Holiday and Overtime Pay
- On-Call Pay (total of $110 per week) additional pay if called out to respond
- PTO (earn 1.5 hours/week)
- 401K (company match up to 5%)
Pay/Hours:
- Full-time (Monday – Friday, typically 8am-5pm On-Call time)
- $21.00 - $24.00 starting hourly wage based on experience
