General Manager

Raeco Builders, LLC located in Sioux Falls, SD is hiring anew role for a General Manager to join our team. Our company of 35 employees is growing and we want to bring on a truly "get it, want it, can do it" type of person to assist our Owner/CEO to run all our day-to-day operations at a high level! The General Manager will also focus on our business strategy while managing operations and assisting our entire team to make "building" dreams come true for our customers. Duties involve overseeing: administration/human resources, accounting, sales, design/CAD, construction/field operations and project management. Provide leadership, management, and vision to ensure that Raeco Builders delivers exceptional operationaloutcomes to meet our growth objectives and specific responsibilities & key deliverables for every department. Drive quality and profitability to exceed our company goals for years to come.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Possess a unique view of how every department works together while closely involved in the day-to-day activities running the company

  • Demonstrate success as a positive leader with the ability to set and gain buy-in for strategic direction and vision; successful team building; provide coaching; attract, hire, retain the best, develop high performing teams
  • Responsible for supervision, direction, communication, and development of the team at Raeco Builders; conduct stay interviews and annual performance reviews
  • Interdepartmental knowledge by having the ability to offer honest insight and help to refine processes to make them more efficient company wide
  • Ability, and willingness, to set and communicate high standards for staff and to hold staff accountable for performance; at the same time, have insight into individuals capabilities and development needs, and a combination of firmness and empathy (understanding) that good leaders possess
  • Ability to be an integrator with decision making skills, ability to challenge the visionary of the company, remove roadblocks, willingness to seek input and build consensus when needed
  • Prepare annual budget with Controller & Owner. Finalize supply orders, assist with processing payroll (trained as a backup for payroll processing, billing, etc)
  • Human Resources: Recruit, hire, onboard and train employees; oversee safety program, process work comp claims; employee relations; benefits; exit process; employee recognition etc.
  • Interact with customers/clients and employees to maintain strong relationships and resolve issues in a timely manner
  • Good strategic instincts and long-term vision; the ability to address big-picture issues and the day-to-day concerns that need to be addressed
  • A high sense of pride and ownership for Raeco Builders, LLC as a company
  • Schedule department meetings, production meetings. leadership meetings etc

Qualifications!

  • Bachelor s degrees in business administration, finance, construction or related field required; Master of Business Administration or relevant degree beneficial
  • 3-5 years of General Manager experience or related experience required; construction experience or in a similar industry highly preferred; experience as an Assistant General Manager or Department Manager preferred
  • Computer: Microsoft Office (Word, Excel); HRIS & accounting software experience preferred, project management software experience a plus; basic office equipment experience required
  • Understanding budget management & finances; strategic thinking & planning
  • Excellent leadership skills, including goal setting, motivating, training plus effective conflict resolution & problem-solving skills
  • Professionalism: Support for Raeco Builders, LLC, its values, and employees
  • Outstanding planning, multi-tasking, time management and organizational skills
  • Exceptional interpersonal & communication: writing, speaking and listening skills
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced or high-pressure environment
  • Knowledge of construction & building beneficial - industrial, commercial, agricultural
  • High focus on customer satisfaction and employee engagement
  • Current driver s license with a good driving record
  • Know and follow local and state codes
