Test Specialist Senior

Job Summary:

Our client in Waterloo, ON is looking for a Test Specialist Senior. This is a contract position.

What You Will Do:

• Provide manual coverage including test plan design, test case design, test execution, bug reporting on embedded, mobile, or consumer electronic platforms.
• Contribute to automated test coverage for key applications and services delivered on infotainment systems using provided APIs.
• Develop automated test code in Python to verify new feature functionality.
• Participate in an Agile scrum team responsible for all aspects of software delivery leading to feature release to customers. 

Basics:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or Computer Science.
• 2 years of Software test experience on embedded, mobile, or consumer electronic platforms.
• 2 years of expertise with Python scripting language and object-oriented development.
• Experience developing automation scripts in Python, or Java.
• Experience with Automation test frameworks, interfaces, and its usages.
• Familiarity with Agile development processes.
• Experience testing for automotive.
• Embedded operating systems (Linux, Unix, QNX).
• Experience testing software on Android OS based platforms.
• Experience testing software on QNX OS based platforms.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Experience with communication protocols: CAN, TCP/IP, USB, Bluetooth, Ethernet, and/or Wi-Fi.
• Familiar and hands on experience with defect management tool such as JIRA, source control tools such as GitHub, test management tools such as TestRail, HP ALM or equivalent.
• Low level test debugging tools such as GDB, PDB etc.
• Detail oriented and adept at detecting and diagnosing software defects.
• Analytical and problem solver.
• An excellent communicator Additional Assets.
• Experience testing Android software system in an automated environment.
• Automotive infotainment system testing experience.
• Experience with bus communication protocols such as CAN and LIN, with a knowledge of debugging tools such as Canlyzer.
• Hybrid position.
