General Summary

The New York office of Alston & Bird is seeking an International Arbitration and Litigation Associate. 

Description • Acting on counsel teams in international arbitration matters in both international commercial and investment arbitrations• Acting on counsel teams in enforcement of arbitration agreements and awards before domestic (federal, state, or foreign) courts. • Conducting legal research and analysis on procedural and substantive issues arising in commercial and investment arbitration matters, including public international law questions relevant to investment arbitration (e.g., treaty interpretation, attribution, and reparation).• Engaging in fact development through, for example, review of client documents, interviewing witnesses, research of public records. • Drafting correspondence and submissions in international commercial and investment arbitration matters.• Assisting in cross-examination and merits hearing. • Writing articles for business development purposes.

Minimum Requirements:

• Must have Juris Doctor degree from an ABA-approved law school (with courses in international commercial arbitration, public international law, and international investment arbitration).• Must be licensed to practice law and be a member in good standing in the state of New York.• Must have 2 years of experience as an attorney performing international commercial arbitration and commercial litigation with an international law firm, including at CIETAC, ICC, AAA, PCA, ICSID, and UNCITRAL.• Must have 2 years of experience performing the following:

• Drafting substantive memoranda in public international law and international arbitration.• Experience in deposition and witness interviews. • International investment arbitration.

Salary range: $235,000 - $375,000
