Position Summary:

The Tax Manager will be responsible for all types of business tax compliance and will work closely with both external parties and internal departments. The position is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious candidate to help establish a new tax function, formulate processes and drive added value activities within a fast moving and challenging organization.

What you will do in this role:

  • Actively manage relationships with outside and head office tax teams to facilitate timely and accurate income tax filings.
  • To effectively operate within multiple nexus and legal company environment.
  • Develop and implement strategic tax planning for all necessary federal and state taxes.
  • Plan for and develop overall return calendar.
  • Maintain effective control procedures over all aspects of the business tax compliance process.
  • Manage and facilitate Federal, SALT, Sales & Use, Gross Receipts, and Personal Property tax audits.
  • Lead year-end process with respect to tax provision, deferrals, tax credits, and allocations.
  • Consistent and effective communication with external and head office teams to improve processes and ensure overall tax optimization.
  • Review quarterly / yearly tax returns and projections.
  • Prepare Personal Property Tax annual filings.
  • Participation in the financial month close.
  • Prepare filings for registration to do business in variety of states (done currently thru CSC).
  • Merge and dissolve legal entities as required.
  • Keep outside auditors up to date on legal entities and states we are registered in, warehouse or office locations, sales staff (locations).
  • Manage and address all tax notices.
  • Ensure the payroll department compliance with Paycom on payroll-related taxes.


What we look for in a candidate:

  • Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Senior Analyst should have 2-5 years of experience in accounts receivable.
  • Skilled in Microsoft Excel Proficient with v-lookups and able to work with and manipulate a lot of data on a daily basis.

Additional skills, knowledge, and abilities:

  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, and percentages. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations. Good problem solving skills.
