The Opportunity

The Product Manager - Consumer Solution Strategy will be an innovative, passionate, and strategic leader in the consumer bank responsible for the development of new digital capabilities to realize this vision with our Spending Buckets product. You will work directly with a team, responsible for development and commercialization. Employing human centered design and lean start up methods, you will help lead cross functional teams (technology, design, research) to develop improvements to the Spending Bucket value proposition, tool, and features. The position will have direct accountability to drive business strategy, economics, product experience and commercialization of innovative and simple solutions to help consumers manage their money. The opportunities are endless with required interactions across multiple groups, placing a premium on relationship building, an ability to develop followership and collaboratively create solutions.

The Work Itself

  • Responsible for helping drive the development of innovative Spending Bucket solutions and improvements to the existing experience by leading agile product development efforts
  • Define and help manage the product backlog and roadmap, collaborating with Digital and Technology on customer-facing designs, technology approach, marketing & merchandising, economics, and multi-channel experience / impacts
  • Work closely with internal teams to develop consumer insights & empathy, using research, survey data and competitive analysis, developing concepts to inform strategy
  • Help define and evangelize the KPIs and “what success looks like”
  • Align necessary resources to define, scope, prioritize and execute work
  • Define and document requirements for work
  • Support Pilot / Testing Experiments
  • Help identify impacted teams and ensure a common understanding of the work
  • Support quarterly planning activities
  • Responsible for first line risk, compliance, regulatory and legal aspects of Spending Buckets, with support from Sr. Director
  • Help lead a team across different channels to drive execution and momentum

The Skills You Bring

  • Direct experience with design principles and methods, practical experience building solutions placing the customer at the center of the perspective (Human centered design) required
  • Product management or product ownership experience required
  • Helped stand up an Agile team or process or experience working in an Agile development environment highly preferred
  • Prior experience in strategy, and/or start up consultative, creating new products, services, and full life-cycle commercialization & deployment
  • Direct experience writing requirements for and driving customer-facing enhancements
  • Prior experience using a variety of customer discovery tactics to help define strategy and/or a product roadmap
  • Proven experience being able to define a vision, mobilize teams and engender followership, fostering collaboration
  • Strategic thinking: able to link disparate concepts/ideas to develop a coherent approach solving for business performance and unlocking value
  • Ability to work at a very detailed level, as well as synthesize and present key action items / insights
  • The ideal candidate will need to have a good understanding of consumer behaviors and product economics as well as the broader competitive landscape to inform tactics and strategies.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
