TheConstruction Technician IIat ASGis responsible for preparing and cleaning construction sites for the placement of communications infrastructure. ASGConstruction Techniciansunload and load materials, read plans and specifications, tend machines, mix and pour concrete, and assist equipment operators and other construction site workers.

What you’ll do: (Including, but not limited to): 

• Job site preparation to include establishing and installing traffic control devices to create a safety zone for work
• Service machines, including pumps, compressors, generators, tractors, and trailers
• Mix concrete, pump concrete, grout, cement, sand, or plaster
• Assist construction equipment operators and dig trenches 
• Review, interpret, and evaluate assigned service requests, work orders, and blueprints/diagrams 
• Operate pavement breakers, jackhammers, earth tampers, concrete, mortar, and plaster mixers
• Advanced understanding of the Scope of the Project
• May operate as a lead technician within the field technician crew
• Understand and practice all safety procedures in compliance with the organization and OSHA standards
• Performs other duties as assigned, which are reasonably within the scope of the responsibilities of this job classification

What you’ll need: 

General

• High school diploma or GED equivalent required 
• 2 years construction experience required
• OSHA 10 Certification and First Aid/CPR Certification a plus
• AutoCAD/Visio experience a plus 
• Knowledge of standard practices when operating power tools, air, electric, and pneumatic drills and survey and measure equipment
• Requires excellent communication and customer service skills 
• Highly organized and detail-oriented 

• Self-motivated and able to work independently
• Proficient with Microsoft Office suite 

Desired Skills 

• Push, pull, reach, and carry objects such as tools, materials, and equipment weighing up to 100 lbs. 
• Load and unload tools and equipment on the truck. 
• Coordinate movement of eyes, hands, fingers, and feet. 
• Vision including depth perception, close vision, distance vision, and ability to adjust focus. 
• All work is performed at remote locations; driving and sitting are required. 
• All work is outdoors, subject to inclement weather conditions.
• Working in confined spaces.
