Our Ideal Candidate

The HSE Coordinator/specialist is responsible for supporting the day-to-day operational activities of the Occupational Health and Safety Management System (OHSMS). This position will be accountable to ensure all HSE related system requirements and actions are successfully tracked, completed, and recorded. The HSE Coordinator/specialist must be knowledgeable in information management, related Health, Safety, and environmental (HSE) standards, digital workflows, Contractor Management, and Emergency Preparedness. This team member is a key stakeholder in ensuring our OHSMS system is operating as designed and holding Allnorth accountable to its HSE Mantra of “Safety in Everything We Do”.

A Day in the Life

Primary Responsibilities Include:

  • Supporting the digital HSE tools and resources (software) to support effective accountability to Allnorth Key Performance Indicators related to HSE operational functions including action tracking, compliance, and reporting
  • Ensure identified action items and HSE requests are logged, supported, and completed in a timely manner
  • Respond to requests for information and prequalification documentation related to HSE
  • Support Allnorth’s Contractor Management Program
  • Support Allnorth’s Emergency Preparedness Program
  • Support the administration of SEHSE related Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s)
  • Support incident investigations and analyzing KPI trends
  • Support HSE related communications, training, and initiatives
  • Supports key projects and initiatives the Corporate HSE department takes on
  • Research, compile, process, and coordinate department data e.g. organizational performance related to HSE targets, KPI’s and Initiatives
  • Undertakes specific tasks to support Corporate HSE if required
  • Work with HSE department team members to complete departmental goals and objects related to audit findings and continuous improvement activities
  • The ability to problem solves time sensitive challenges and/or deadlines for department success
  • Being a resource for Allnorth team members in support of their understanding and experience related to Allnorths Digital HSE tools and resources

What You’ll Bring to the Team

Requirements: 

  • High School diploma or equivalent experience/combined education, with additional specialized training in specific aspects of job functions and/or demonstrated ability to perform assigned tasks
  • Certificate or diploma in Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE), Operational Safety, Contractor management or a level of experience that provides a similar knowledge level
  • Working with and administering electric Data bases, software management tools/products
  • Minimum of 2 years of proven ownership of defined roles and responsibilities in Electronic databases/records management capacity
  • Minimum of 3 years working in Occupational Health and Safety with proven experience in both office, lab, and field environments
  • Demonstrated proficiency with the HSE related activities including incident investigation, contractor management, and Emergency Preparedness
  • Demonstrated proficiency in MS Office suite coupled with a comfort and capability using productivity software tools
  • Perficient in English both written and verbal
  • Internal client focus – able to develop, maintain and nurture strong relationships with team members by listening, understanding, and responding to identified needs
  • Decision Making - knowledge of and able to use effective approaches for choosing a sensible course of action or develop appropriate solutions and/or reach conclusions. Able to take action consistent with available facts, constraints, and anticipated consequences
  • Detail oriented - Able to focus on detail orientated tasks and processes to ensure consistency and compliance to a high set of standards and protocols both internally and externally leading practice
  • Collaboration – Proven track record of being able to successfully collaborate on complex, multidepartment related project and initiative.
