The Strategic Planning Specialist will provide valued strategic insights, trusted advice, and skill execution that elevate WVUHS's impact in West Virginia and beyond. This position will play an important role in supporting these objectives, both on the clinical side (hospitals, physician groups, ancillary services) and health plan side (Peak Health and other lines of business.).
The strategic planning specialist will also lead and manage projects, client engagement, meeting facilitation, and both quantitative and qualitative analysis on challenging projects.
Reporting to the WVUHS AVP Health System integration, this position will interact with system leaders at all levels of the organization and will serve as a strategy liaison to health plan (Peak) leadership, clinical leadership, hospital executives, and others across WVUHS.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE:

1. Bachelor's degree in health care administration, accounting, finance, or business administration.

EXPERIENCE:

1. Five years health care experience in health system and/or health plan administration.

1. Master's degree in health care administration, accounting, finance, business administration, or other applicable field.

EXPERIENCE:

1. Experience in strategic planning.

CORE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The statements described here are intended to describe the general nature of work being performed by people assigned to this position. 1. Support the enterprise AVP and Executive VP, Health System Integration to identify growth opportunities and develop strategic plans with a focus on creating value-based healthcare delivery programs.

2. Inform strategy and business development through both qualitative and quantitative market assessments including market share, service line assessments, financial analysis, and other industry research.

3 Develop presentations that effectively communicate strategic initiatives and business plans in a clear and captivating manner.

4. Support key leaders in the development of business plans for strategic initiatives.

5. Act as a key liaison between clinical leaders, hospital executives, and others, and ensure a tight linkage between the organization's efforts and its strategic goals. Serve as a key champion of the organization's strategic priorities to internal constituents through formal and informal communications.

6 Demonstrate strategic thinking and effectiveness by identifying future needs and problem areas, developing workable solutions, and following through to action.

7. Drafting and coordination of grant and other funding opportunities.

8. Evaluate and prioritize strategic opportunities. Work with IT strategic analytics to ensure effective and impactful analytics, provide business insight into implications of findings.

9. This role will work with matrixed plan stakeholders to achieve better outcomes, quality, margin targets, operational excellence, and compliance.

10. Interact with IT and population health in the development of strategies required to succeed in value-based care and population health.

11. Define projects, develop project plans, and set priorities for working teams. Engage external stakeholders. Keep projects focused and on track. Plan and facilitate meetings.

12. Maintains personal development program to improve professional and business skills necessary for high level performance within the position. Attends meetings and seminars to maintain knowledge of current trends and developments in the field and applies information as appropriate.

13. Other duties as assigned.
