You must be 17 years old by the start date to be considered for this role.

What you'll do :

• Performs various unskilled physical work required in the field operations area.
• Assists crews with routine service work related to the company’s gas, service and electric systems. Assist with staking for new construction.
• Performs maintenance of buildings, vehicles, equipment and grounds as assigned. May include routine cleaning of equipment or janitorial work.
• Keeps informed about and abides by the required Safety Rules, Operating Practices and codes.
• Provides storeroom support such as preparing materials for distribution, inventory control, etc.
• Performs other responsibilities which are similar, related or incidental to this position.

Education Requirements

• Current high school student
• Completion of Junior year of high school
• Enrolled in classes for the upcoming academic calendar year

Other Requirements

• Valid driver’s license
• This position is covered by the Department of Transportation regulations on drug / alcohol testing (CFR 49, Parts 40 and 382), and is subject to drug / alcohol testing according to said regulations

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Basic mechanical ability (ex. using hand tools, taken Shop class) and interest in utility construction.
• Effective communication skills
• Strong work ethic
• Ability to work effectively in a culturally diverse work group
• Strong reading comprehension and problem solving skills
• Willingness to work outside in all weather conditions
