Pride Health is seeking a Histology Gross Technician/Lab Technician to join our team! You will be responsible for performing medical tests to diagnose, treat, and prevent diseases.

Shift: 3rd Shift 11:00 PM - 7:30 AM, Training will occur on days 8:00 AM - 5:30 PM

Role Type: Contract to Hire

Location: Seattle, WA

Responsibilities:

• Perform technical tasks that involve the accurate gross description and dissection of surgical specimens
• Prepare sections of human tissue for pathologist diagnostic study
• Diagram pertinent gross specimens as necessary
• Operate a cassette labeler, grossing of human biopsy specimens, tissue processor operation, embedding of tissue specimens, operation of automated stainer and cover-slippers
• Perform equipment maintenance as needed
• Record equipment log data
• Print and collate case worksheets, filing slides, jars, and paperwork, organize waste and inventory
• Distribute cases to pathologists for diagnosis
• Candidate may be asked to do other departmental tasks such as accessioning and scanning materials

Requirements

• AS/ B.S./B.A. Degree in Biology, Chemistry, or related science as CLIA requires. The candidate will need to provide official transcripts to be credentialed.
• Candidates with Science credits - 60 semester hours from an accredited institution or 24 semesters of medical technology or 24 semesters of science: 6 semesters of chemistry, 6 Biology, 12 semesters of combination chemistry, biology, or medical technology
