Dispatcher/Customer Service Representative- Mechanicsburg, PA

Alliance Shippers Inc. is one of North America’s largest privately owned providers of global logistics and transportation services. We are currently seeking qualified Dispatcher/Customer Service Representatives to join our operations staff in Mechanicsburg, PA

Successful candidates should have:

• 3-5 Years experience in Intermodal or Over-The-Road trucking operations
• 3-5 Years experience in Shipping/Receiving or Warehousing Distribution
• Prior experience in rate negotiation with customers or vendors
• Prior experience in marketing a service via phone and/or e-mail

The Role:

Our Operations team members are responsible for direct communication with our customers, from the initial order tender, to the final delivery. There is also coordination with vendors and multiple Alliance Shippers offices.

The key parts of the job include:

• Heavy telephone usage. Team members are assigned a group of customers that must be updated daily.
• Heavy e-mail usage. Team members must be able to organize their e-mail usage so that it doesn't overwhelm.
• Order Entry. All customer's instructions must be entered into our system. Any data entered goes to several different vendors so accuracy is a must.
• Problem Resolution. Team members must be hands-on in solving issues that arise during the day.
• Review Information from Co-workers and vendors. Throughout the day information flows from co-workers and vendors regarding service issues and capacity. These must be addressed and resolved daily.
• Report Preparation and Processing.

Additional requirements include:

• Excellent computer skills, particularly Excel.
• Some overtime may be required, especially during peak periods.
• Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
