Intermodal Equipment Planner

Alliance Shippers Inc., is one of North America’s largest privately owned providers of global logistics and transportation services. We are currently seeking an Intermodal Equipment Planner to join our team in Mechanicsburg, PA.

Job Summary:

Intermodal Equipment Planner is responsible for the optimal utilization of the company’s refrigerated fleet in an assigned geographical area. Also required direct communication with customers and internal clients to ensure efficient operations.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee yard inventories and dwell times.
• Communicate shortage/overages to Dispatchers
• Route multiple vendor fleets with differing geographical limits
• Perform data entries to keep operations system up-to-date.
• Assign equipment to drayage vendors as needed.
• Coordinate with drayage vendors to reload equipment when possible.

The Candidate:

• Intermodal or Trucking background required
• 2 years in asset management or dispatching. Preference would be given for experience with west coast produce shipping.
• In-depth knowledge of the features, benefits, and technical aspects of Intermodal/Truckload transportation
• Proficient with MS Office programs. Prior experience with AS/400 type systems is a plus.
• Ability to develop and maintain strong working relationships with internal clients
• Strong written and verbal communication skills*

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour
