Description

POSITION: Director, Systems

RESPONSIBLE TO: Vice President of Systems and Growth

JOB SUMMARY: The Director of Systems should possess a diverse set of skills that blend technical knowledge with leadership and a deep understanding of healthcare operations. This role requires not only managing the systems themselves but also leading the organization through technological changes in a way that supports clinical excellence and patient care.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO, THE FOLLOWING:

  • Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of healthcare information systems to ensure seamless operations and compliance with industry standards.
  • Develop and execute strategic plans for the integration of new technologies to improve patient care, streamline workflows, and enhance efficiency.
  • Manage a team of system administrators, analysts, and support staff, providing leadership, guidance, and mentorship.
  • Collaborate with other department heads and stakeholders to identify system requirements, prioritize projects, and allocate resources effectively.
  • Evaluate existing systems and processes regularly, identifying areas for improvement and implementing solutions to optimize performance and reliability.
  • Stay abreast of emerging trends and developments in healthcare IT, evaluating their potential impact and recommending relevant strategies for adoption.
  • Serve as a liaison between IT and clinical staff, fostering strong communication and understanding to align technology initiatives with organizational goals.
  • Participate in vendor selection and contract negotiations, assessing products and services based on quality, functionality, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Prepare and present reports to executive leadership on system performance, project status, and future initiatives, offering insights and recommendations for decision-making.

OTHER

  • Completes all assigned AP training (such as CPR, OSHA, HIPAA, Compliance, Information Security, others) within designated timeframes.
  • Complies with Allergy Partners and respective hub/department policies and reports incidents of policy violations to a Supervisor/Manager/Director, Department of Compliance & Privacy or via the AP EthicsPoint hotline.
  • Models the AP Code of Conduct and demonstrates a commitment to the AP Compliance Program, standards and policies.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Physical demands are moderate with occasional lifting of items weighing approximately 20-30 pounds. Position requires prolonged sitting, some bending, stooping, and stretching. Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity sufficient to operate a keyboard, photocopier, telephone, calculator, and other office equipment is also required. Employee must have normal range of hearing and vision must be correctable to normal range to record, prepare, and communicate appropriate reports.

Qualifications


EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Health Informatics, Business Administration, Information Systems, or a related field preferred

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in managing business systems within a healthcare environment, with a proven track record of successful system integrations and process improvements.
  • Strong leadership skills with experience in developing and leading high-performing teams.
  • Excellent project management abilities and experience managing complex projects across multidisciplinary teams.
  • Deep understanding of healthcare operations, clinical workflows, and regulatory compliance.
  • Proficiency in healthcare IT systems, Electronic Health Records (EHRs), and other clinical management software.
  • Exceptional communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and train staff at all levels.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on delivering results and meeting organizational objectives.
