Job Summary :

Our busy and growing practice is currently looking for a conscientious and upbeat Medical Assistant (MA) to join our team at our Maryville / Alcoa office, full-time (4 days / wk, MWRF).

The successful candidate will be a team player with unquestionable character, a passion for patient care, and solid clinical skills.

The candidate will also be someone who can build excellent rapport with co-workers and who can add value to our organization by taking initiative and problem-solving.

Specialty-specific training and development will be provided with a consistent work schedule.

Qualifications and Skills :

• Excellent people skills with great eye contact
• Excellent communication skills with a clear and pleasant voice
• Neat, well-groomed, professional appearance

Responsibilities and Duties :

• Greets engages and communicates well with patients and their families
• Works closely with providers to ensure a seamless patient experience
• Performs intake, vitals, and rooms patients
• Performs diagnostic procedures including allergy skin testing and pulmonary function testing
• Provides patient education when indicated
• Administers therapeutic medications, immunizations, and allergy injections
• Triages clinical inquiries; calls in prescriptions as ordered
• Documents and updates clinical data, care plans, and orders in EMR
• Schedules referrals and off-site services and obtains pre-certs / PAs if necessary
• Provides check-in and check-out support
• Other general nursing duties as required
