With $1,000 in his pocket, Allen Lund made the brave decision to start his own transportation brokerage company. It was 1976, when Allen Lund Company formally opened the first office in Los Angeles. Now, we have 38 offices and continue to grow!

We are looking for Account Coordinators. The primary responsibility of an Account Coordinator is to develop and increase profitable volume with existing and newly acquired customers. If this is you, or you like a challenge– let’s talk.
You will
Be responsible to develop and increase profitable volume with existing and newly acquired customers
Build relationships with existing and new accounts
Use strong relationships to understand customer’s business in order to provide solutions
Coordinate bidding off contract with value-added service
Maintain and increase ALC’s image and reliability with customers
Provide exceptional customer service internally and externally
Conduct business reviews with all existing accounts
Prospect for new shippers
Leverage all modes and services in the sales process
Have specific knowledge regarding product compatibility and shipping requirements for dry loads and temperature requirements, and maintenance when handling refrigerated loads
Determine optimal loading and delivery patterns and times using your own creativity in order to minimize time and miles traveled with regards to the customer; advising if a load is manageable.
Make yourself available for after office hours contact by both offices and shippers by being “on call” throughout the night and weekends.
Contact management if faced with issues outside of standard operating procedures.
Build loads
Update/check calls
Schedule pickup and delivery appointments
Update customers systems
Update customers with critical information, etc.
Answer phones and distribute calls to the appropriate broker
Open and sort mail
General office duties
Review bills of lading for proper documentation
Make sure quantities loaded and delivered match, and that there is no damage to cargo listed
Communicate with brokers regarding any discrepancies found on bill of lading (i.e. shortages, damages) prior to settlement
Contact carriers to obtain delinquent proof of deliveries
Balance files, complete file settlement and forward paperwork to corporate accounting for payment
Process carrier and third-party invoices
Work with carriers and factoring companies to resolve carrier A/P issues
Monitor uninvoiced files and track missing carrier invoices
Maintain filing system for settled files
Handle all calls regarding accounts receivable
Verify and input invoicing information for shippers
Run receivables report weekly and check for invoicing errors, adjustments and overdue freight invoices
Start collections process as directed
Work with Broker(s) to resolve any problems or disputes
Update active load information into system for shipper and carrier tracking
Update profile information
Update insurance information
