Allan Myers is Hiring a Dispatcher Near Downingtown, PA

Responsibilities:
Allan Myers has an immediate opening in our transportation department for a Dispatcher at our Downingtown location.

Responsibilities
  • Receive orders for shipment and schedule appropriate trucks to fulfill it using internal and external partners.
  • Keep track of progress of trucks
  • Receive inquiries and complaints about driver, truck or project and work to resolve the issues
  • Produce Schedules in a way that will minimize cost and use the best route for each project
  • Chart routes and modify routes as needed
  • Ensure timely response to customer needs
  • Answer questions regarding the availability of trucks and the appropriate haul rate
  • Maintain a friendly relationship with drivers and customers

Qualifications:
Experience & Education/Certification:
  • 1-3 years of experience in a similar role within the construction/transportation industry.
  • 1-3 years’ experience in service writing and providing admin support to fleet services.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) required. Advanced Degree in Engineering, Business, Construction Management, or Accounting preferred.
Required Skills & Knowledge:
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Must possess excellent communication (written/verbal) and time management skills.
  • Must be self-motivated and have strong critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
  • Capable of providing strong financial leadership to the project teams.
