Job Description Summary

Assists the Director or Senior Program Supervisor in implementing the program’s policies, advocacy initiatives, services, finances, and outcomes. Assists the Director, Senior Program Supervisor in the day to day operation of the program. Responsible for direct supervision and program management under the supervision of the Director or Senior Program Supervisor.

  • Provide direct services, site supervision and program supervision.
  • Must be able to handle a small case load.
  • Train and ensure staff completion of documentation.
  • Must maintain accurate and sufficient documentation to permit successful entering into Electronic Medical Records (EMR) and allow for timely billing.
  • Keep abreast of all required trainings including CPR, First Aide, Recipient Rights, and Person-Centered Planning, required documentation and chart management.
  • Responsible for staff consultation.
  • Must be able to work with clients who have co-occurring disorders.
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of social resources available to consumers.
  • Responsible for psychosocial assessment, risk factor analysis, treatment planning, crisis intervention, conflict resolution, and stress management skills.
  • Must attend funder and community meetings.
  • Available for identified on-call services as assigned.
  • Assist in assuring staff are notified timely of required trainings that are held with the MCPN and staff trainings are up-to-date and audit ready.
  • Assures staff charts are audit ready.
  • Assists Director and Senior Program Supervisor in maintaining program quality compliant with policies of AWBS, DWMHA Office of Recipient Rights, CARF and funders.
  • Provide clinical support to staff with cases and assist in problem solving issues with families, providers, and clinical issues etc.
  • Responsible for assisting the Director and Senior Program Supervisor in supervision of program staff and input on staff performance appraisals.
  • Promote a team environment with multidisciplinary staff members.
  • Ability to comprehend the policies and procedures within the Agency.
  • Must have a good knowledge of the National Association of Social Workers (NASW) Code of Ethics.
  • Perform other related duties as required.

Physical Demands/Work Conditions

  • Physical, mental and emotional condition adequate for performance of the work.
  • Some driving may be required such as attend meetings, trainings, etc.
  • Must be flexible.


Education/Experience/Credentials

Education

Required

  • Master’s Degree.

Experience

Required

  • Three to Five years of clinical experience working with individuals with mental illness, substance use disorders and/or developmental disabilities.
  • Minimum of two to three years of leadership experience.

Credentials

Required

  • Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) or Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC).
  • A valid Michigan Driver’s License with an acceptable driving record.

Preferred

  • CADC, CAADC.

  • Ability to be flexible with changing and/or unpredictable work settings and assignments, work independently with minimal direction and to respond to written and oral direction.
  • Ensures compliance with funder, CARF, legal and AWBS requirements, standards and ethical practices.
  • Ensures quality and customer focused services.
  • Maintains confidentiality on behalf of consumers, staff and the Agency.
