All Weather Contractors, Inc. is Hiring a Construction Safety Manager Near Orange, FL

Purpose:

The Safety Manager will review, and implement safety practices & act as a professional advisor and resource to All Weather Contractors team including Project Managers, site Superintendents and field personnel.

Level Scope: We serve multi-family housing, townhomes, and apartment complexes, as well as some commercial projects. Working together with the CEO and Human Resources team when needed, you will help maintain our safety culture and commitment to our organization and each other by developing safe operating standards and deliver training designed to address customer requirements and industry standards.

Minimum Qualifications:

•Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management

  • 10 - & 30-Hour OSHA Certification in construction
  • A recent 5-7 years of work history that includes at least 3 years that have been dedicated solely to building construction safety preferably with a Residential (Multi-Family) and commercial GC.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Knowledge of OSHA, local safety laws, and other regulatory agencies.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Able to perform the following activities: standing, walking, climbing (ladder, scaffolding, steps, etc.), driving, lifting, and carrying, kneeling, crouching, and sitting. Proficient with MS Office
  • Sound/ethical judgment, strong leadership skills, and ability to work independently.
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite.

  • Assess worksite hazards and develop appropriate controls/standards by developing site-specific safety plans as required by the General Contractor/customers.
  • Conduct shop and jobsite audits in conjunction with competent personnel onsite.
  • Be the go-to resource to solve problems raised by the project team on issues occurring in the field or concerns raised as potential roadblocks or hazards that affect the project team.
  • Proactively manage trade partners and subcontractors; provide coaching and corrective feedback relative to safe work practices and conditions.
  • Actively represent the company during insurance or governmental inspections.
  • Investigate accidents resulting in injuries as well as near-miss incidents that have not resulted in injury or property damage, to determine a root cause and/or lessons learned.
  • Assist in claims management process.
  • Design and deliver training standards/materials that meet governmental and customer compliance standards, additionally addressing behaviors causing accidents.
  • Manage & maintain records: OSHA recordkeeping compliance, Injury management practices following an injury, training/learning management system, and client reports.
  • Participate in preconstruction safety meetings to analyze and effectively prepare for risk issues.
  • Conduct regular (daily) jobsite and work area assessments for at-risk behaviors, unsafe conditions, public protection, ICRA/ILSM and additional project risk. Ensure corrective actions are communicated, understood, implemented, and documented.
  • Develop Accident Prevention Plans for each new project.
  • Participate in all Incident Investigations
  • Stop any observed imminent danger event/activity immediately without consultation.
  • Daily communication with project teams

General Conditions and Duties:

Some tasks may involve moving, lifting, and carrying material weighing up to 70 pounds; standing up to eight hours each day; working in all weather conditions; exposure to high noise levels, and required hearing protection.

Travel Requirement:

The Safety Manager will be required to travel occasionally and visit local and out of town job sites to ensure the Safety Program is being followed.

The ability to drive & fly is required.
