We are looking for a reliable Maintenance Technician who has excellent handyman skills to provide services and fulfill work orders for our clients. Must have own truck and tools will require traveling to client locations. Company will provide a weekly Gas allowance.

• We are looking for someone who has a broad technical knowledge of painting and handyman skills. Must be well-organized with strong painting and general repair skills. A keen eye for detail and physical stamina are valued greatly in this job. This is a full time position. Must be able to work on weekends and evenings if needed.

Responsibilities

• Covering trim, floors, furniture and other surfaces with masking tape, drop cloths and other protective coverings to keep them free of paint
• Setting up ventilators and other safety equipment to protect Painters from unhealthy fumes
• Preparing surfaces to be painted by washing them, filling holes and cracks with putty and sanding them until they’re smooth
• Applying primer and other sealers to paint surfaces to ensure that paint sticks to them
• Mixing and matching paint, stain and other finishes to job specifications
• Applying paint, stain and other finishes to paint surfaces using paintbrushes, rollers or sprayers
• Professional knowledge on how to use a sprayer.

• Communicate with customer about work completed
• Ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues appropriately
• Safely use tools and equipment
• Ability to determine when issues need to be escalated
• Update drywall and paint as needed
• Help with tile or flooring installation
• Assist with trim carpentry or exterior siding
• Perform basic electrical and plumbing maintenance
• Perform minor fixes such as repairing broken locks, installing doors, baseboards etc;
• Experience painting and filling gaps or crevices (on walls, etc.)
• Undertake light installation or carpentry (e.g. build cabinets)
• Repair equipment or appliances
• Assist tradespeople with electrical, plumbing or HVAC repairs
• Undertake duties as assigned or emergency tasks
• Knowledge in assembling furniture
• Home Theater installation (TV mounting)
• Identify and report the need for major repairs

Qualifications

· Possess & maintain a valid Drivers license

· Basic knowledge of electricity and mechanical functions

· Ability to pass a background check

· Demonstrate excellent customer service skills

· Must have own tools

· Reliable vehicle able to carry tools and equipment

· Proven experience as handyman

· Basic understanding of electrical, plumbing or HVAC systems

· Basic math skills

· Good communication ability

· High school diploma or equivalent

· Experience with plumbing and electrical systems required

· Excellent facility with common hand and power tools

· Ability to communicate well with property management and maintenance staff

· Willingness to uphold company standards for safety, tenant service and efficiency.
