We invite you to join our team.
APN Lodge is seeking a Medical Administrative Assistant in Edwards, CO.
The medical administrative assistant is responsible for completing daily assigned administrative duties to include prior-authorization submissions, laboratory services, onsite provider scheduling and offsite specialist scheduling, receive and direct phone calls, check in patients and complete a full set of vitals, obtain release of information, file and update patient records. This position may also assist with medication administration, controlled-substance counts, medication reconciliation, medication ordering/ refills, notification of medication compliance or other medication issues, and other duties as assigned. Understanding provider med orders and general knowledge of medications is a must, along with a high attention to detail and organization.

LPN, LVN or MA are all acceptable qualifications for this position. Previous experience as a medical assistant preferred. Must display excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to always communicate clearly and effectively with patients and other external parties in a courteous and friendly manner. Must be detail-oriented and highly organized. Firm grasp on medical practices, administrative processes, and organizational policies. Knowledge of patient care and examination procedures. Must be able to maintain confidentiality at all times.
Education: High school diploma or GED required; completion of an accredited medical assistance certification program preferred or appropriate certification.
Experience: Minimum 1 year experience preferred working as a medical assistant with medications in a professional capacity. Prefer experience in Behavioral Health.
Special Skills & Knowledge: Candidates should have the following skills and attributes: Understand provider orders, efficient and organized documentation, ability to communicate with clients therapeutically, understanding of medications.

  • Routine mobility to include standing, stooping, bending, lifting, walking and running.
  • Ability to read labels, follow directions, count meds quickly, open medication bottles and/or packaging without difficulty
  • Organized and efficient documentation
  • Ability to lift up to 20 lbs
Materials & Equipment: Copy machine, multi-line telephone, computer/laptop, walkie talkie, fax machine, Microsoft Office preferred

Position Duties and Responsibilities – Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Medical Assistant
  • Scheduling and tracking of patient appointments for both onsite provider and offsite specialist
  • Prepare patients for appointments
  • Relay patient needs and concerns to medical providers
  • Monitor and follow-up on patient lab results
  • Maintain appropriate lab logs
  • Manage equipment and supply inventories
  • Serve as a liaison between medical providers and patients
  • Assist with medication orders/ changes
  • Complete prior-authorizations for medications and offisite appointnments
  • Labs: blood draws, gene sight, COVID-19, and other CLIA-waived labs within scope
  • Perform and record vital signs, detect changes in symptoms, alert nurse when abnormal
  • Administer medications in an efficient and effective manner
  • Understand providers orders, clarify as necessary, communicate with pharmacy and insurance
  • Controlled substance counts
  • Other duties as assigned that are within scope of practice
