Parkwood Healthcare Community is recruiting for a hospitality focused Director of Environmental Services to join our team! The Director of Environment Services provides full-scope, hands-on management of the Community’s Environmental Services Department. Responsible for maintaining a superior level of quality service and cleanliness. This person is a key member of the Community’s management team adhering to policies and procedures and upholding the Community’s mission, philosophy, values and the Company’s vision, principles and Hospitality Promises.
EXPERIENCE AS A DIRECTOR OF ENVIRONMENTAL SERVICES IS REQUIRED.
This is an exempt position, MOD day once every seven weeks is also required. Health insurance available after 30 days of employment. PTO: Three weeks vacation and one week sick time accrued every year, accrual starts upon hire. 
Here are a few of the daily responsibilities: 
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive, professional, and upscale environmental services program in order to create and maintain a positive experience for all customers.
  • Supervise the Environmental Services Department. Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing and hiring; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees.
  • Meet or exceed established budgetary and financial guidelines.
  • Responsible for hands-on supervision of staff, as well as working on the floor when staffing issues arise.
  • Ensure professional, trained, properly uniformed, and talented staff.
  • Visits residents periodically to evaluate environmental services such as laundry or room cleanliness issues.
  • Responsible for ordering supplies for housekeeping department, and making sure that the community is always in supply of items needed.
  • Supports creating a culture where the business decisions made in this position, along with individual employee engagement, drive top-line revenue and occupancy.
Here are a few of the qualifications we need you to have: 
  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree (preferred).
  • Experienced and proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel, as well as email, zoom meetings, 
  • Must have an understanding of operating a computer, printer, and other office equipment.
  • Minimum of three years’ experience as Environmental Services Director at a LTC community.
  • Minimum of three years’ experience in management of environmental systems.
  • Senior living community experience required.
