Description
SUMMARY
The Health Information Management Coordinator provides clerical support to Health Information Management team. Ensures that patient medical records are complete.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
No supervision of agency staff is required.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in
one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
OTHER QUALIFICATIONS
Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously with careful attention to detail. Good written and verbal communication skills. Good telephone skills. Minimum typing skills. Communication and Relationship Skills: Exemplifies high level of written oral and listening communication skills, always respecting patient confidentiality.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
If required to drive to carry out the duties of this position, current Tennessee drivers license and automobile insurance as required by Tennessee state law.

Requirements
CONTINUING EDUCATION
The agency requires this position to complete 12 hours of continuing education per year covering topics that will contribute to improvements in carrying out the above responsibilities. Regulatory agencies may require some disciplines to have additional hours in order to be licensed or certified.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or general education degree (GED). One to three years related
experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Medical records experience preferred.
