Positive Behavior Support CoordinatorPosition Purpose:
The Positive Behavior Supports Coordinator is an equity strategy to assist in the development and implementation of a consistent district wide Multi-Tiered System of Support (MTSS) model of tiered intervention processes and procedures. Through collaboration with principals, the district implementation team and other stakeholders, this position supports the goal of improving student achievement by encouraging system-wide and local school evidence-based initiatives to increase student learning. This is an adminstrative position in our district.

Essential Job Responsibilities:
1. Facilitates academic and behavior support through problem solving within an MTSS model.
2. Ensure MTSS components are established in the district and will provide information and professional development opportunities in collaboration with building leadership teams and instructional coach teams.
3. Provides training, coaching, and support to administrators, teachers, and school-based leadership teams to facilitate implementation of a Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) at the district and school levels. Assistance activities would include, but are not limited to: observation and feedback, modeling strategies, interpreting data, and providing professional learning.
4. Works with district and school personnel to facilitate an understanding of how MTSS correlates with school improvement and participates in the school improvement planning process.
5. Uses Synergy as a tool to inform leadership/intervention decisions, monitor progress, and assess effectiveness
6. Assists in monitoring the fidelity of implementation of MTSS at the school level including both in academic and behavior support systems.
7. Assists in monitoring the process to ensure compliance and adherence to district procedures, state guidelines, and federal regulations.
8. Ability to lead teams in the implementation of MTSS, professional development and district-level MTSS meetings.
9. Maintains cooperative working relationships with staff, parents, and other district personnel. 10. Maintains effective and timely written and oral communications with staff, parents, and other school personnel.
11. Collaborates with social workers, counselors, school psychologists, school based SECL teams and District Coordinators to identify, implement and monitor student progress. 12. Maintains professional competence through professional reading and attending appropriate workshops, courses, and conferences in keeping with the needs of students and in accordance with district guidelines.
13. Effectively and efficiently maintains and utilizes an integrated data system. 14. Develops and maintains a communication plan for families.
15. Develops and maintains an early risk warning system.
Position Requirements:
1. Master's degree in Education, (prefer Administration)
2. Three or more years of teaching experience is preferred.
3. Current teaching or administrative certification by the Nebraska Department of Education.
Salary Information
1. 230 day contract with 15 vacation days
2. Salary range $90,000-$110,000 (depending on experience and degree level)
