Align CEC, Inc. is Hiring a Land Surveying Technician Near Indianapolis, IN

What is Align?

Align is an engineering consulting firm in Indiana with an emphasis on municipal infrastructure, transportation, aviation, and parks/recreation. We provide multi-disciplined services for a variety of public agencies and private entities, including INDOT, cities, counties, developers, and not-for-profit organizations. For over 60 years we have helped develop stronger communities through our engineering, land surveying, and construction inspection services.

Who are we looking for?

We are searching for a motivated team player who is looking for a technically challenging career without the physical constraints of a traditional desk job. In this role, you will travel to a variety of job sites and help execute land surveys for the development of new roads, neighborhoods, municipal infrastructure, parks, trails, and other community projects. The Survey Field Technician position is also a stepping stone to becoming a Survey Crew Chief. What are the responsibilities and roles of this position?

  • Assist with field data collection for, aviation, boundary, ALTA / NSPS, linear route, and topographic surveys.
  • Perform surveys in diverse conditions including roadways, forests, creeks, and farm fields during all four seasons.
  • Report to job sites on time. We do not require our crews to report to an office each day.
  • Represent our company and our values to the public while on job sites.
  • Utilize remote communications to and from our home office.
  • Investigate essential information to conduct new land surveys such as maps, deeds, previous survey data, photographs, and section corner ties.
  • Operate the latest robotic total stations (S7), electronic levels (Dini level), GPS RTK units (R10), Trimble Business Center, Version 4.0, (data-collection and processing software), Seafloor Hydrone RCV equipment, Trimble Access (cloud data-transfer), LiDAR processing software and the use of field scanning equipment.
  • Be a team player and maintain a positive, coachable attitude.

What are the required qualifications for this role?

  • 1 year of land surveying experience
  • High school diploma,
  • An Associate’s Degree in Land Surveying is preferred but not required
  • Valid driver’s license

Where is this position located?

This job will primarily be performed in job sites in central Indiana

Pay: $20.00 - $30.00 per hour
