Job Description

We are looking for a talented, technical communicator to play a critical role in driving Alertus' rapid growth. The Pre-Sales Engineer will report to the Director of MNS Solutions and will be a key player in bringing our mission to life. In this role, you will be responsible for working alongside our Sales Executives to provide technical expertise in both the Alertus solution as well as third-party integrations.

This is an autonomous position where prioritizing multiple daily objectives in a fast-paced environment will be the key to success. Our ideal candidate is someone who finds purpose in providing the best possible solution for critical communication gaps in the education, healthcare, commercial, and federal markets.

A Day in the Life:

  • Design and present engaging product demonstrations that showcase the full capabilities of the Alertus Mass Notification Solution
  • Develop, present, and respond to RFPs/RFIs
  • Plan and modify the Alertus solution to meet customer needs in the education, healthcare, commercial, and federal markets
  • Demonstrate and/or conduct trial installations of Alertus equipment
  • Use your extensive technical knowledge in engineering/science principles to sell goods and services as well as provide support for installation and use
  • Effectively interact and communicate with our product development team to provide solutions to complex technical issues or gaps
  • Collaborate with sales teams to understand customer requirements in order to promote the sale of the Alertus solution
  • Provide technical support to both the Sales and Client Services departments
  • Work with technology partners to evaluate integration capabilities
Required Skills:
  • Expert oral and written communication skills including experience responding to RFIs/RFPs
  • Ability to maintain a high level of productivity in a fast-paced, team-first environment while managing multiple competing priorities
  • Intellectual curiosity and entrepreneurial spirit
  • Working knowledge of internet hosted networking environment, applications, highly available architectures, virtualization, computer security, telephony, and networking
  • Strong technical background with relational data structures, middleware architectures, and APIs
  • Ability to overcome sales obstacles through creative and adaptive approaches
  • Experience in Microsoft Office Suite, Salesforce, and other web-based applications
  • Willingness to travel an average of 20-25% a year to both local and national customers and prospects
Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, or related field
  • 4 years experience in a customer-facing sales role
