The Research Analyst will help evaluate Aledade programs and interventions and manipulate a variety of data sources (e.g., national Medicare claims, other payer claims, electronic health records, and event notification data). They will work cross-functionally with partners across the organization to surface insights on program performance and support recommendations for prioritization and improvement. 

Primary Duties:

Understand the problem space:

• Work with teams across Aledade and external partners to understand and clarify questions and issues for data analysis and experiments.

• Design descriptive statistical analyses to answer key business questions. 
• Design and program code to integrate, evaluate, and analyze diverse data sources.
• Perform data analysis and statistical modeling to generate actionable insights and solutions.

• Assist in working across teams at Aledade to identify implications of analysis results and translate findings into action.
• Develop analytic products that accurately communicate insights from the data and inspire action. 
• Work closely with engineering and other product partners to enable analytic solutions.

• Bachelor’s degree and 4 years of relevant experience. Advanced degree may substitute for some experience.
• Experience with SQL for data manipulation and R, Python, or Stata for statistical programming.
• Experience with healthcare data sources such as medical or pharmacy claims, electronic health record, event notification, clinical, and patient reported data, and working in a complex enterprise data warehouse

• Strong experience with SQL
• Masters in a related social science (e.g., economics, public health, health policy, public policy), statistics, mathematics, or computer science
• Excellent quantitative analysis abilities, grounded in econometrics, health services research, epidemiology, statistics, or related field
• Demonstrated ability to conduct nuanced analyses to produce accurate and unbiased results and tell the story of those results in data visualizations, presentations, and reports.
• Attention to detail, particularly with version control (e.g. Git), quality assurance, documentation, and building repeatable processes
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage competing deadlines and priorities.
• Values people with differing backgrounds and perspectives; supports effective interpersonal and intercultural engagement
• Well-versed in Equity and Inclusion language, concepts, and principles (i.e. health disparities, social drivers of health, implicit bias) and able to communicate and explain them to larger audiences
• Committed to serving teammates and patients with empathy and respect
• Ability to manage research projects through the entire life cycle, from design through implementation, documentation, and presentation of findings
• Exposure to causal inference methods including designing and/or conducting experimental and quasi-experimental studies (e.g., randomized trials; regression discontinuity, difference-in-differences, instrumental variables, and matched designs).
• Thinks beyond their immediate team and contributes to making Aledade holistically better (active engagement in employee resource groups, DE&I initiatives, book/journal clubs, facilitating training, leading roundtables, etc.)
• Knowledge of standard methods for measuring health care utilization, spending, quality, and related outcomes
