Calendar Coordinator This position reports to the Compliance Attorney and works with the managing partner, managing attorney, attorneys and legal support personnel to coordinate legal calendars and appearances at hearings, mediations and trials in all counties in multiple states. The position also works with appearance counsel vendors to coordinate additional coverage when necessary. Specific Duties, Activities, and Responsibilities
Review court and hearing notices on a daily basis and input appearance information into the firm’s case management system
Confirm coverage for all upcoming hearings, mediations and trials in all counties in multiple states
Be familiar with policies and procedures of firm’s individual clients to ensure that court appearances handled by outside vendor (appearance counsel) meets individual client requirements
Be familiar with legal requirements and court processes of all states (and individual counties) in which the firm practices
Confer/communicate with specific court personnel, opposing counsel and/or other adversary to coordinate and schedule hearings
Job Requirements
High School diploma or equivalent required
Two years of experience in legal support setting; experience with debt collection business not required but preferred
General understanding of functions of state and federal judicial systems; general understanding of legal processes
Must be proficient in software tools, including but not limited to Word, Excel, Outlook, and the Internet.
Must possess strong written and verbal communications skills.
Must provide excellent customer service to internal and external customers
Identifies and solves issues in a timely manner.
Must be a team player and willing to help others in their department whenever necessary.
Must be extremely organized and be able to multi-task.
Conscientious with respect to work completion, deadlines, time management and attendance.
Takes initiative in face of obstacles and identifies what needs to be done and takes action.
