Aldridge, Hammar & Wexler, PA is Hiring a Front Desk Receptionist Near Albuquerque, NM

The Receptionist/Administrative Assistant is the first impression of the office, including the Firm and its tenants. This role supports the office and administrative functions of the Firm to ensure that they are running smoothly, timely and efficiently.

This is an in-person job for busy law office in the uptown area. Work hours are 9 am to 4 pm Monday through Friday, with a 1 hour lunch break from 12 pm to 1 pm - Works a total 30 hours per week. Hours for this position are not flexible and there is no remote work. This person will be eligible for healthcare and dental after 90 days. The firm pays for a long-term disability plan. Paid Time Off will accrue at 3.47 hours per 2-week pay period starting upon hire, plus paid holidays.

  • Answer all incoming phone calls, direct calls as appropriate, return calls and follow up with inquiries in a timely manner.
  • Cordially greet visitors promptly upon their arrival at the office.
  • Ensure that the reception area and conference rooms are tidy and presentable, with all necessary supplies (e.g. pens, forms and paperwork).
  • Provide basic and accurate information in-person and via phone/email.
  • Receive, sort and distribute mail, deliveries and faxes, throughout the day.
  • maintain check ledger for incoming checks.
  • Maintain office security by following safety procedures and controlling access to the building via the reception desk.
  • Update Firm calendars and reserve conference rooms.
  • Perform other clerical duties such as filing, printing, mailing, photocopying, and scanning as assigned.
  • May provide some assistance with billing functions.
  • Assist with file management, i.e. opening and closing client files.
  • Assist with facilities management.
  • Secure company documents and information and maintain confidentiality.
  • Build positive and collaborative relationships with: Partners, Associates, Managers, vendors, clients and coworkers.
  • All other duties as assigned by management.

Education and Experience:

  • High School diploma
  • A minimum of 1 year related receptionist/administrative type experience
  • Must have excellent written and oral communication
  • Must have excellent computer skills especially with Microsoft Office Products (Word, Outlook, Excell), Windows Explorer
  • Must have experience with a multi-line phone system

Working Conditions:

  • Office environment with a lot of typing, talking, phone work, sitting and some walking.

Physical Requirements:

  • Sitting for extended periods
  • Must be able to regularly lift, push, pull, and/or move a minimum of 25 pounds
  • Must be able to stand, walk, crouch, and bend
  • Must have excellent hearing, vision and hand-eye coordination
  • Repetitive hand motions (typing)
  • The noise level is low to moderate

  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment background check.
  • This job requires a professional, friendly and helpful demeanor and appearance.
  • Must not have been convicted of a crime or have civil judgment for unpaid consumer debts.
