Your Valued Contributions:
Supports dental care delivery by preparing treatment room, patient, instruments, and materials; passing instruments and materials; performing procedures in compliance with the Dental Practice Act.
  • Supports and assists clinical providers and professionals:
    • Prepares exam rooms prior to patient appointments according to safety and infection control protocols.
    • Provides instrumentation by sterilizing and delivering instruments to treatment area; positioning instruments for dentist's access; suctioning; passing instruments.
    • Prepares patient for dental treatment by welcoming, comforting, seating, and draping patient.
    • Takes and records medical and dental histories, and vital signs of the patient.
    • Exposes diagnostic dental x-rays.
    • Makes preliminary impressions for study casts and cleans removable appliances.
    • Helps dentist manage dental and medical emergencies by maintaining CPR certification, emergency drug and oxygen supply, and emergency telephone directory.
    • Provides post-operative instructions as prescribed by dentist.
    • Instructs patients in oral hygiene and plaque control programs.
    • Records treatment information in patient records.
    • Maintains patient confidence and protects operations by keeping information confidential.
    • Conserves dental resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results.
  • Provides administrative support to the dental practice
    • Schedules patient appointments.
    • Maintains clerical records.
  • Maintains proper attendance and punctuality; stays within attendance/punctuality policy guidelines.
  • Special projects as assigned.
Required Training & Experience:
  • Word
  • Electronic Health Records system
  • Possesses a current State of Michigan driver’s license and valid automobile insurance.
  • Possesses a current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) CPR certification.
