Albion Economic Development Corporation is Hiring a Project Analyst Near Albion, MI

Overview:

Using strong analytical and project management skills, the Project Analyst plays a

critical role in supporting the Albion Economic Development Corporation’s mission by

providing analytical and research expertise for community, housing, and economic

development initiatives. This position is responsible for conducting research, analyzing

data, making projections, and preparing reports to assess the feasibility and potential

impact of various projects. The Project Analyst also prepares project budgets, conducts

capital stack assessments, and prepares proposals and requests for proposals. This

position is in-person for the first 90 – 120 days, then can transition to hybrid with the

opportunity to work some hours remotely and some hours in the office. Occasional

local travel within the City of Albion is required.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Conduct research on industry trends, economic indicators, and competitor

landscapes to inform community, housing, and economic development strategies.

  • Analyze data from various sources, including government statistics, business

surveys, and economic modeling tools.

  • Prepare clear, concise, and visually appealing reports and presentations to

communicate complex economic data and analysis to a variety of audiences.

  • Prepare project budgets and evaluate the financial feasibility and potential

economic impact of proposed development projects, including job creation,

investment, and tax revenue generation.

  • Assist with the development of community, housing and economic development

programs and initiatives aligned with the EDC’s strategic goals.

  • Monitor and track project progress and performance metrics to measure success

and identify areas for improvement.

  • Prepare proposals and requests for proposals for community, housing, and

economic development initiatives.

  • Perform capital stack assessments on real estate transactions to define who has

the rights to income and profits generated by the property and in what order.

  • Supports special projects and initiatives as assigned by the President and CEO.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in community and/or economic development, research

analysis or a similar field.

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, economics, public administration, non-profit

management, or a related field (preferred, but not required)

  • Strong research, analytical, problem solving and project management skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact

effectively with diverse stakeholders.

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Works independently, under pressure, to achieve goals and to create a

supportive work environment.

  • Excellent computer skills with database experience and proficiency in Microsoft

Office products including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams.

  • Skill in using tact, discretion, initiative, and independent judgment within

established guidelines.

  • Knowledge of and demonstrated ability to apply rules, regulations and guidelines

associated with Economic Development programs (helpful but not required)

  • Thorough knowledge of state and local government structure, operations,

functions, practices, and procedures (helpful but not required)

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to work in front of a computer for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to occasionally lift up to 25 pounds to move or transport office or

event supplies.

  • Reliable transportation is required for occasional local travel within the City of

Albion.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $30.76 - $43.36 per hour

Expected hours: No more than 20 per week
