 Job Overview:
This Graduate Assistant position will have the opportunity to maximize their exposure multiple departments under the Student Administrative Services umbrella, including the Financial Aid Office, the Office of the Registrar/Academic Affairs, the Bursar's Office, the Department of Human Resources, Finance, and the Falcon Campus Store/mailroom. The role is intended to help enhance GA's exposure in the business environment, allowing them to gain skills that will be transferable in different industries. The Graduate Assistant will assist with special projects, the creation of flyers, event planning, general office support, and coordination of various events on campus throughout the year.

Graduate Assistant Positions are limited to applicants seeking degrees in the following programs:

  • Master of Business Administration (MBA)
  • Master of Science in Management and Organizational Leadership (MSMOL)

 Master of Science in Criminal Justice


Essential Functions
Financial Aid Office

  •  Help with the reconciliation of funds
  • Perform direct audits of federal tax returns and verification
  • Collect and maintain data to assist with analytical surveys and audit prep
  • Provide excellent customer service to students, their parents, and all auxiliary offices and staff
  • Assist with the sending of missing document letters/emails for all programs, the sorting, entering, and filing of all documents, and phone coverage

Finance and Administration

  • Assist with the scanning of files.
  • Assist with coordinating the Department of Human Resources events, including, but not limited to, Employee Recognition, Holiday employee contests, etc.
  • Assist the bursar’s office and fiancé departments in data entry, filing, and creation of memos.
  •  Provide assistance and coverage to the campus store/mailroom. Participate and help with the setup and monthly specials.
  • Assist with administrative tasks that arise.
  •  Provide exceptional customer service to all members of the Albertus Community.

Office of the Registrar

  • Assisted in the filing and maintenance of student records, including database management and the extraction and analysis of complex datasets.
  • Conduct research and report findings in support of academic program review, development, and initiatives.
  • Provide administrative support to the Office of the Registrar, including phone and email communications, setting up special events, and assisting in the academic affairs division as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Maintain a high level of confidentiality and discretion at all times.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, as well as strong interpersonal skills.
  • Solid computer skills (especially Microsoft Excel); willingness to learn and adapt to new software/technology.
  • Innovative thinking, able to think outside of the box.
  • Adaptable to change; able to confidently work independently or with a team on projects.
  • Highly professional, has good judgment, and is willing to take initiative.
  • Ability to multitask and work gracefully under pressure.

Education:
A bachelor’s degree is required.
Acceptance to a graduate program at Albertus Magnus College as a full-time student.

Work Schedule Requirements:
To Be Determined, but 20 hours a week in total.
