Alaskan Tour Guide - Seasonal Position
June 2024 to mid-Sept 2024
We are looking for an enthusiastic and knowledgeable tour driver guide to join our team. As a driver-guide, you will be responsible for driving and leading groups of visitors on tours of Alaska, providing them with information about the history, culture, and attractions of the state. You will also be responsible for ensuring that your guests have a safe and enjoyable experience.
Job Duties:
Drive and lead groups of visitors on tours of Alaska
Manage tour schedule logistics
Provide informative and engaging narration about the tour route and attractions
Answer questions from guests
Ensure the safety and security of guests
Handle any unexpected situations that may arise
Qualifications:
Must be at least 23 years of age and possess a Valid Drivers license
Must be able to provide a clean MotorVehicleReport.
Must be able to pass a UA Drug Test
Must be able to pass a DOT Physical
Ability to safely operate small bus with trailer in tow
Ability to lift baggage weighing up to 50lbs
Excellent customer service skills
Strong public speaking skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Ability to work long hours and flexible schedules
Ability to be away from home for extended periods of time
Knowledge of Alaska and its history and attractions
Experience in the tourism industry is a plus
Alaska resident preferred, Mat-Su area doubly preferred
Compensation and Benefits:
Average is $248 per day
Paid lodging when overnighting away from home office
Gratuity eligibility
Additional Information:
This is a seasonal position from June to mid-September, with some flexibility for those that require shorter term employment (e.g., teachers).
Successful candidate must complete a UA Drug screen, pass a background check and obtain a DOT medical card before hire.
