POSITION: RETAIL STORE MANAGER
COMPENSATION: $50,000.00 YEARLY SALARY, 2 WEEKS PAID TIME OFF (BLACK OUT DATES APPLY), MEDICAL INSURANCE, DENTAL INSURANCE, SUPPLMENTAL INSURANCE THROUGH COLONIAL LIFE, 401K MATCHING.

Our Alaskan gift shop needs a highly motivated, results driven Retail Store Manager. The successful candidate will be able to enhance customer satisfaction, meet sales and profitability goals and manage staff effectively. This candidate should be passionate about delivering exceptional customer service, high-quality products and maintaining a well merchandised store front to maximize profitability. Our company is seeking someone to create effective policies and procedures to ensure our retail staff operates at peak efficiency. We’re looking for an experienced individual who doesn’t mind putting in the long hours and working with employees and managers to constantly strive to meet our mission. RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction through excellent customer service.
• Respond to all customer inquiries and grievances on the sales floor in a professional manner.
• Setting sales goals and training, mentoring, and motivating staff to achieve those goals. Provide feedback to sales staff during daily, weekly, monthly meetings.
• Conduct personnel performance reviews to assess training needs and build career paths.
• Forecasting staffing needs and developing a recruiting strategy for all locations, especially during peak seasons.
• Maintain outstanding store conditions and visual merchandising standards.
• Work with Warehouse Manager / Assistant buyer to receive freight and work inventory onto sales floor in a timely manner while keeping accurate records for accounting department.
• Report on buying trends, customer needs, and propose innovative ideas.
• Inventory – Do quarterly audits of inventory and sales lines to keep accurate inventory records.
• Transfers – Assuring that transfer requests from our 2nd location are communicated, pulled and delivered in a timely manner. Weekly checks on separate location for quality control on candies, store, and merchandising.
• Meet with management for weekly updates on production needs, employee issues, ideas, complaints. Promotions, etc.
• Weekly cleaning and store resets as needed with retail staff.
• Retail supply ordering (tag guns, price guns, ink rolls, pricing labels, etc.)
• Ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations according to Municipality of Anchorage Health Department and FDA.
• Other miscellaneous tasks as needed directed by President/Vice President.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Proven successful experience as a Retail Store Manager
• Powerful leading skills and business oriented
• Customer management skills
• Strong organizational skills
• Great communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to operate basic business software programs

VACATION BLACK OUT DATES:

• Valentine’s Day (February 1st - February 15th)
• Easter
• Mother’s Day
• Summer (May 15th – September 15th)
• Christmas (November 15th - December 26th)

SPECIAL PROJECTS:

• Continuous market research of industry trends.
• Promotional planning
• Special annual event hosting
