Summary:
JOB SUMMARY: The Analytics Engagement Specialist operates as a member of the Alaska Native Tribal Health Consortium (ANTHC) Analytics Engagement Team and has a passion for data. ANTHC’s Analytics Engagement Team works collaboratively with partners, data stewards, data consumers, and members of ANTHC’s broader Data & Analytics Team to implement effective analytics solutions for ANTHC and Tribal Health partners across Alaska. This is primarily a customer-facing role focused on supporting a data-driven culture within the Tribal Health System by working closely with cross-functional teams to roll out new analytics products, create shared reusable logic, implements grants with analytics components and increase data literacy. The Engagement Specialist cultivates end-user success by ensuring users understand when and how to use and access analytics products and to interpret and leverage data for reporting and outcomes improvement. Level I employees perform work under general supervision, may only perform more complex tasks under close supervision, generally requiring instruction and mentoring, but can use available data to make basic decisions regarding their work. Level II performs complex and responsible tasks within this position, analyzes data to make decisions, trains lower-level employees, and often works with minimal supervision. Level III employees combine communication and business analysis with engagement skills to transform clinical, financial and operational processes, affecting multiple organizations.

Responsibilities:

All Levels
D ATA LITERACY: Fosters data-driven culture at ANTHC and within Tribal Health Organizations (THOs) and assists with knowledge transfer. Analyzes business processes to determine how data is generated, used, and exchanged across information technology systems. Understands data needs and develops a working understanding of data structures. Learns the data life cycle for operational, clinical, finance, and research data needs.
S TAKEHOLDER ENGAGEMENT: Works closely with stakeholders on outcomes improvement projects that seek to leverage analytics. Participates in outreach events that aim to promote user engagement and education. Plans and supports coordination of annual data summit(s).
V ALIDATION: Responsible for coordinating robust data validation efforts prior to the release of new products or functionality and generally building the confidence of data consumers in the integrity of analytic tools, reports, value sets (grouping of information), and populations.
B USINESS ANALYSIS: Analyzes business needs and communicates user requirements and use cases accurately. Works collaboratively with the Analytics and Reporting Team to ensure developed products and tools satisfy user requirements.
C OMMON DATA LANGUAGE: Supports development of the values sets and populations throughout the enterprise data warehouse.
D OCUMENTATION: For key service lines with processes that impact all Tribal Health Partners documentation for end-user training and peer knowledge transfer, including design, writing, and maintenance of application training curriculums, upgrade notices, changes, benchmarks, presentations, videos, knowledge checklists, end-user proficiency evaluations, and updates content on webpage.
D EPLOYMENT: Ensures the successful deployment and engagement of analytics tools and products. Works closely with Analytics and Reporting Team to support large-scale deployment of analytics tools for Tribal Health Partners. Communicates on a regular basis on project progress to key stakeholders and leadership.
T RAINING & COACHING: For key service lines that impact all Tribal Health Partners resents complex reporting logic in a simple manner to the user community. Participates in design activities and works with Analytics and Reporting Team, Informatics, and business owner teams to develop training lesson plans. Provide go-live support and upgrade support. Follows up after training to ensure system use, satisfaction and accuracy of understanding.
P ORTFOLIO MANAGEMENT: Supports the ongoing cleanup of the reporting environment to ensure that only valid reports, populations, and value sets actively used remain. All levels perform other duties as assigned. Analytics Engagement Specialist II PROJECT SUPPORT: Ability to support the implementation of complex analytics projects involving multiple stakeholders across disciplines. Works closely with Analytics Engagement Specialist III and others to support use of analytics within large-scale outcome improvement opportunities.
I MPROVEMENT: Builds system wide efforts to improve clinical and operational performance and implement optimal new programs and processed connected to data. Apply knowledge of change management to improve outcomes.
O NGOING OPTIMIZATION: Troubleshoot, solve problems, and recommend changes to address deficiencies. Collect and disseminate user feedback for iterative improvement and future enhancements.
T RAINING PROCESS DEVELOPMENT: Develops and maintains a process for training and engagement. Creates and maintains templates for training materials. MENTORSHIP: Mentors levels I team members to develop their skills for advancement. Analytics Engagement Specialist III PROJECT LEADERSHIP: Ability to lead the implementation of complex analytics projects involving multiple stakeholders across disciplines and serve as key member of outcomes improvement teams.
T RACK USAGE: Track customer utilization of services and products to identify trends and areas for improvement. Identify who is using the tools and create profiles by departments. Monitor and engage users on the creation and use of value sets and populations.
P ROGRAM DEVELOPMENT: Perform complex project planning, development and implementation within the scope of authority. Make recommendations based on analysis of single and multi-organizational workflows.
C URRENT PRACTICES: Assess and make recommendations on new training techniques based on national and industry reviews, user input and knowledge of training practices. Monitor and review data and analytics training trends by actively seeking knowledge and sharing it with team members. Interprets trends at the national level and intersects these trends for opportunities with Tribal Health System data and analytics needs.
M ENTORSHIP: Evaluate training methods and training program(s) to make recommendations for improvement. Mentors levels I and II team members to develop their skills for advancement.
