Old Dominion Brush Company LLC (ODB) is accepting applications to fill the position of mid-to-senior level Manufacturing Engineer in the department of Manufacturing Administration in Richmond, Virginia. Position Summary: The mid-to-senior level Manufacturing Engineer is a key position in the Company and will support and contribute to the company goals of profitability, return on investment, inventory turnover and accident prevention. The Manufacturing Engineer, under minimum supervision, will determine the most cost-effective processes, methods, systems, tooling, equipment, scheduling plan, and plant layout to be used to manufacture ODB products. Adapt and implement procedures to evaluate labor and operating costs for compliance with standards and stated cost objectives. Develops short- and long-term manufacturing strategies and capital requirements, and actively implements the development and introduction of new products. Acts as a key driver of change within the plant, supporting management/cross functional decisions. Under general supervision, supports the development of robotic automation welding and CNC machinery that will further increase the efficiency and the quality of the manufacture of ODB products. Responsible for creating programs, jigs and fixtures and training operators on CNC and robotic equipment. Transitions manufacturing processes from traditional methods to robotic or CNC processes and provides measured productivity results to management.
