JOB TITLE Secretary II
REPORTS TO Assigned Supervisor

JOB SUMMARY
Performs advanced clerical and moderately complex secretarial work, meeting the public and assisting in general administrative duties. Functions are varied, may be technical in nature requiring familiarity with terminology used in specialized work. Work is performed under general direction of the Supervisor.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
A high school diploma or GED is required. Secretarial training and successful experience in working with agencies in the same or similar capacity is desirable. Knowledge of reception desk equipment is required. Two years of experience are required; at least one of which should be comparable in duties and responsibilities to those of this position. Ability to deal with the public in different situations in a pleasant, courteous, and helpful manner. Ability to use word processing programs on computer is preferred. Demonstrated ability to type at 50 words per minute is preferred. Ability to be regular and punctual with attendance.
Ability to use excellent business English, grammar, spelling, and punctuation. Ability to utilize good telephone skills.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; communicate verbally and electronically; and use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; stand; and move throughout the building and/or to other facilities. Occasionally required to reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, and/or crawl. Frequently required to drive. Occasionally required to lift or exert force of up to 20 pounds.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others in a fast-paced environment is required.
