Akahi Associates is Hiring a Registered Nurse - Cardiopulmonary Near Nellis, NV

Overview

Schedule: Monday-Friday between the hours of 0700- 1730, dependent upon mission requirements: 8 hour work days 5 days per week or 10-hour workdays 4 days per week. To take a 30 min - 1 hour uncompensated lunch, not to exceed 40 hours per week. The work hours are dependent upon the mission requirements.

Location: Nellis AFB, NV - Cardiopulmonary Clinic

Pay rate: $45/hr - $52.99/hr

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate patient care in collaboration with a wide array of healthcare professionals. Facilitate the achievement of optimal outcomes in relation to clinical care, quality and cost effectiveness.
  • Ensure compliance with standards of care and practice in accordance with all established policies, procedures, and guidelines used in the MTF.
  • Perform physical exam and health histories.
  • Provide health promotions, counseling, and education.
  • Administer medications, assist with cardiac stress tests (exercise stress tests, nuclear stress tests, and stress echocardiograms) and other personalized interventions.
  • Direct and supervise care provide by other healthcare professionals.
  • Recognize adverse signs and symptoms and quickly react in emergency situations.
  • Communicate and collaborate with a diverse group of people for the purpose of informing the healthcare team of plans/actions, for teaching/education to benefit the patient/family and organization.
  • Make referral appointments and arrange specialty care as appropriate.
  • Perform nursing services identified in the TO.
  • Conduct research in support of improved practice and patient outcomes.
  • Assist with other duties in the cardiology, vascular, and pulmonary clinic as assigned by unit leadership.
  • Assist with other departments at the direction of the MDG commander or Flight Commander.

Qualifications

  • Degree/Education: Bachelors of Science in Nursing. Graduate from a college or university accredited by National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission (NLNAC), or The Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE).
  • Certifications: Shall hold and maintain Basic Life Support -BLS is required for Healthcare Providers and Advance Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Certifications must be through American Heart Association or American Red Cross guidelines.
  • Experience: Must have 4 years of experience in nursing as identified in the TO after graduation. Require at least one year of experience in telemetry or cardiology (inpatient or outpatient setting). Prefer experience in outpatient clinics (especially cardiology, vascular, or pulmonary). Plus if member has experience in cardiac catheterization laboratory, urgent care, critical care unit, emergency room, or step-down cardiology unit, or combination thereof.
  • Licensure/Registration: For positions involving patient care, candidates must have a permanent, full, and unrestricted Registered Nursing license to practice nursing in a State, District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States.
