Overview

Job Summary

The Credentialing Specialist will be responsible for submitting, tracking, and responding to facility/group and individual provider credentialing and contracting. Also submitting applications, tracking progress, and working with clinical staff to gather the information needed for both facility and individual credentialing.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities for Credentialing Supervisor

  • Connect with new providers to gather needed information and facilitate the completion of credentialing.
  • Supervises credentialing staff and daily activities for the department.
  • Monitors all open cases and generates productivity reports.
  • Create qualifying packets for new applicants to make sure they meet the minimum requirements.
  • Monitor and track staff credentials and licensure.
  • Consistently follow up and track the status of all applications and provide up-to-date reporting.
  • Ability to work independently, set priorities, and meet deadlines with a strong sense of urgency.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all departments, leadership, and government.
  • Skilled in Microsoft Office and database programs. Strong Attention to detail and Excellent Customer Services skills.

Qualifications

Required Education and Work Experience

  • Associate degree or completion of the technical school program
  • 1 year of similar work experience
  • 1 year of experience in credentialing for the government.
  • Certified Provider Credentialing Specialist (CPCS) or similar certification preferred
