Team Member Requirements:

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with implementing and managing processes, which regulate key activities and legal requirements.
  • Monitor the maintenance of the premises and equipment at all times and report on required action to the Operations Team
  • Preparing food by cooking and/or preparing food items.
  • Assist management with ensuring that the business is effectively managed and staffed at all times.
  • Monitor the quality of food, beverage and service to make sure they are in accordance with company standards.
  • Proactively manage the security of cash, product and equipment. Reporting any concerns or recommendations
  • Assist in ensuring the business is run to the company and legal standards in regards to Hygiene, Health and Safety, and Licensing
  • Work and liaise with the management team to ensure all areas of concern are dealt with, including up to date, fire drills and alarm testing.
  • Assist in managing and coordinating all aspects of Health and Safety within the food & beverage departments & kitchen, ensuring that all guidelines, risk assessments, safe systems of work are implemented and that all employees are fully trained in all aspects of health and safety.
  • Work closely with all heads of department to maintain a stable team so that service levels are maintained and the recruitment & training cost to the business are minimized.
  • Assist with new hire training and management of employees in an open and approachable manner to assist in maximizing employee retention.
  • Other job duties as assigned

Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry, colleagues may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the hotel.

Regular attendance in conformance with the standards, which may be established by AKA West Palm from time to time, is essential to the successful performance of this position.

Due to the industry that we are in a need will occur for each colleague to provide “Lateral Service”. Our goal is to ensure that we are maximizing customer satisfaction and as a result there will be times when our teammates in Operations will call upon us for support in order to ensure customer satisfaction occurs. When we are fortunate enough for this to occur, each colleague will positively respond unless there is a chance that an opportunity resulting in dissatisfying a guest could occur. If this is the case the manager is to notified and the level of support that is being requested will be obtained.

SUPPORTIVE FUNCTIONS:

In addition to performance of the essential functions, this position may be required to perform a combination of the following supportive functions, with the percentage of time performing each function to be solely determined by the supervisor based upon the particular requirements of the company.

  • Attending all mandatory meetings.
  • Keep work area neat and organized.
  • Must adhere to all State, Federal and Corporate food and liquor safety regulations.

Experience, Skills and Knowledge:

  • High school degree or equivalent.
  • 1 Year of cooking experience required
  • Associates degree or higher.
  • Minimum of one year of experience in Food & Beverage.
  • Ability to be flexible with work schedule including nights, weekends and holidays.
  • Meticulous attention to detail
  • Food Handler Certification. Certified Food Service Professional preferred.
  • Skills Needed: Motivational, verbal communication, written communication and manageability.
  • Gourmet market and grocery store experience a plus

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to lift up to 15 lbs.
  • Sits, stands, bends, stretches, lifts items and moves intermittently during working hours.
