Position Title: Director of Supply Chain FLSA Classification: EXEMPT

Reports To: Sr VP Operations & Engineering Date: 1/25/247/20/2023

JOB DESCRIPTION

Summary/Objective:

The Director of Supply Chain responsibilities include managing overall supply chain operations, including purchasing and inventory of raw materials, selection of vendors, distribution of detail, and finished goods. Evaluates past performance data to forecast needs and production levels. Develops strategic plans to improve productivity, quality, and efficiency of operations to include suppliers. Ensures supply base issues are resolved in a timely and cost-efficient manner. Familiar with a variety of concepts, practices, and procedures. Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks. Provides functional leadership and guidance to each department.

  • Owner of the end-to-end performance of team members, schedule, and materials via strategic thinking skills. Responsible for department budget and audit support.
  • Apply process management and improvement techniques in scheduling and procurement. Use problem-solving skills and analytical abilities to develop innovative and expedient solutions to problems.
  • Negotiates contracts, benchmarks, implements, and monitors large scale cost reductions. Manages all stages of sourcing process from situation analysis, business requirements gathering, market research and intelligence, strategy creation, request for proposal, negotiation, award, implementation, and additional analysis.
  • Develops and maintains a high-performance culture in the function, resulting in continued success meeting functional KPIs and improved levels of customer service to interior and exterior customers.
  • Ensures supplier compliance to specifications, terms, conditions and requirements of the purchase order and contract and makes recommendations when non-compliance occurs.
  • Performs other duties as assigned to support the organization.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel). 
  • Exceptional knowledge of MRP system.
  • INFOR knowledge.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills with ability to collaborate and build a consensus in a high-pressure environment.
  • Strong business acumen and attention to detail regarding budgets and P&L
  • Broad understanding of fundamental business principles.
  • Analytical problem-solving skills with an impeccable attention to detail.
  • English as a primary language.

Supervisory Responsibility: Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Duties include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; evaluating performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work: Exempt and 40

Travel: 10-25%

Required Education and Experience:

  • B.S. in Supply Chain, Business, or equivalent degree.
  • 20 years’ experience in supply chain and materials management.

Preferred Education and Experience:

  • MBA or equivalent graduate degree
