We are seeking a Senior Android Software Engineer to join our amazing Consumer Software team at Airthings, bringing our solutions to the next level.

About the software team

The software team is building next-generation services around our hardware that provides insight into the indoor climate and energy usage at homes and buildings. We work agile and are continuously improving the way we work. Today our cloud services provide a solid platform, but we are still growing fast and need someone who is able to get the overview and keep moving us forward. We run a great ecosystem including mobile apps, web clients, smart home integrations, building management integrations, and more. We do this by having experts in software engineering for apps, servers, and web in addition to data scientists.

We are in need of a Senior Android Software Engineer who can help our teams use their potential to the fullest by…

  • Designing and implementing mobile solutions that seamlessly integrate with IoT ecosystems and cater to diverse consumer needs.
  • Exceptional teamwork skills, enabling you to collaborate effectively with various teams such as backend, firmware and UI/UX to deliver impactful results.
  • Showcasing your ability to architect, develop, and maintain sophisticated Android applications.
  • Helping us harness the full potential of the latest advancements in the Android app landscape, ensuring our solutions are at the forefront of consumer technology.

We are looking for

  • A team player who is intellectually curious, and eager to grow with the company. 
  • 5 or more years of hands-on experience in Android/Kotlin development.
  • Experience in declarative UI toolkits, such as Jetpack Compose, UI state, MVVM or MVI architectures, and unidirectional data flows.
  • Experience with Kotlin Native and KMM (Kotlin Multi-Platform).
  • Passion for mentoring and coaching other engineers.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, software, or a related field, may be substituted by years of experience in software development.
  • Good knowledge of state-of-the-art concurrency on Android: coroutines and flows.

Nice to have

  • Knowledge and experience in Bluetooth development or IoT development
  • Good understanding of Android dependency management, with the ability to maintain libraries and multi-module projects effectively
  • Knowledge of iOS development
  • Proficiency in working with RESTful APIs
