The Training Coordinator is directly responsible for overseeing all activities for the day-to-day administration of the company’s Part 135/91 training programs including maintaining and tracking pilot currency, as well as scheduling all training and checking events. The Training Coordinator will work with the Director of Training, Chief Pilot, and Director of Operations, as appropriate, to maintain the highest level of regulatory compliance possible as it relates to required Company training events. This is an onsite/in-person job located in Waukegan, IL. It will not be remote or hybrid.
Essential Duties
  • Manage and maintain positive relationships with current and future training vendors and specialty training providers to ensure quality and schedules meet the needs of the organization
  • Schedule all initial and recurrent pilot and cabin attendant training with approved Part 142 facilities
  • Anticipate future training needs from the Chief Pilot, Director of Operations, and Director of Training based on new hires, transitions, upgrades, etc.
  • Coordinate all line checks with Company check airmen and FAA resources
  • Assist Crew with arranging travel, hotels, and cars relating to company training and Part 142 training events
  • Function as liaison with Flight Control, Owner Services, Crew Scheduling, and Sales to resolve training conflict issues
  • Prepare and issue training center authorizations for all Part 135 training to ensure proper training occurs in accordance with Company instructions and approved check airmen
  • Oversee pilot currency, ensuring that all pilots are current and qualified for Part 135 operations
  • Request, review, and maintain all crew training records in Avianis
  • Upload digital records to Avianis, ensuring that all required crew information with medical, airman certificate, passport, and restricted radiotelephone operator permits are present, along with aircraft-specific training records
  • Prepare all 8410s for line and oral checks
  • Prepare documentation for crewmembers transitioning to other aircraft
  • Obtain and review all necessary documentation from Part 142 facility
  • Obtain check airman letters of authorization from FAA
  • Bi-annual audit of Part 142 training centers
  • Perform other duties and/or special projects as assigned by the Director of Training or higher authority
QualificationsQualified candidates must possess an intermediate knowledge of corporate aviation, FAA, and TSA regulatory requirements for charter operations.
  • High School Diploma, bachelor's degree preferred
  • Must have the ability to quickly learn and understand the regulatory requirements of a Part 135 Air Carrier Certificate holder as described in FARs Part 119 and 135
  • Must be highly organized, maintain an ability to work quickly, accurately, and effectively under deadlines, and display an innate ability to work without continual supervision
  • Must be technologically oriented, and have proficiency using computers and computer software including an intermediate degree of proficiency with Microsoft Office products
  • Capability to learn company software systems, pilot records, training software, and other software utilized by the company
  • Must be adaptable and flexible as workloads change or update
