Airport Synergy Group-LAX LLC is Hiring a Part-Time Dispatcher (16 hours per week) Near Los Angeles, CA

Description

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Reporting to the Duty Managers and Terminal Managers, the Operations Center Dispatcher will oversee the Airline Support Operations Center (ASOC) on a 24/7/365 basis. When on shift, the Operations Center Dispatcher will be required to work collaboratively with numerous other entities, in addition to his or her role assisting with various administrative duties. The Dispatcher will also directly support the organization’s preventative and corrective maintenance programs along with inventory and accounting functions. A Lead Operations Center Dispatcher will assist the Duty Managers and Terminal Managers in overseeing ASOC scheduling, policies, procedures, training, and activity logs.

The Operations Center Dispatcher will:

1.) answer phone calls, maintain contact logs for each specific request (i.e., operational requests, maintenance malfunctions, and custodial services as needed), and dispatch maintenance, custodial, or supervisors to address issues as appropriate.

2.) monitor the operational status of systems, equipment, and facilities, monitor upper-level control screens, and dispatch maintenance or jam services as appropriate.

3.) escalate matters to the on-shift Duty Manager or emergency services as appropriate.

4.) perform data entry as necessary to oversee the organization’s Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) and other work logs.

5.) generate work orders, update work order information in the CMMS, maintain accurate inventory records.

6.) create purchase orders and track spare parts inventory.

7.) maintain operational information logs (e.g., airline activity, gate use, etc.) as directed by the Duty Manager.

8.) assist Duty Managers with drafting letters, reports, and correspondence as requested.

9.) other duties as assigned.

The ASOC will be continuously staffed, and one or more Operations Center Dispatchers will be available 7 days each week, 365 days annually, and will observe and obey all ethical and legal obligations entrusted in the position.

Requirements

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE / QUALIFICATIONS
To perform this job successfully, the selected individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. - Two years’ experience role is desired, similar roles in an airport environment will be preferable. 

- Demonstrated ability to facilitate effective communications in a multi-stakeholder environment.

- Ability to solve problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardizations exist. 

- Ability to review/write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. 

- Ability to effectively respond to questions from key stakeholders, employees, clients, customers, and the general public.

- Excellent communication skills.

- Demonstrated proficiency with MS office tools.

- Local experience at LAX will be considered a plus. 

COMPENSATION

- $20.00 - $21.00 per hour.

EDUCATION, CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

- Two-year degree or course work in Business Administration, Public or related field. Degree is a plus. 

- Aviation experience is a plus.

- Must be eligible to obtain all Airport staff access and security clearances from the Authorities.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Periodic US Domestic travel may be required.
