Job Summary:
The Airiam Senior Project Engineer is tasked with delivering on technical projects for clients that fall outside the scope of standard support agreements. These may be new implementations, upgrades, or migrations of existing infrastructure systems or services. The Senior Project Engineer will be involved in the process from pre-sales discussions up through execution and completion of the project. They are expected to be able to manage their time well, balancing multiple projects at different phases at the same time. The engineer will have experience with scoping a project including all tasks and providing estimates of time required to complete work. Due to the varying size of customer environments and project scopes, they may work independently or as part of a technical team to complete assigned tasks. In addition to project work they are also to provide escalation support for the Service Desk team.
The Senior Project Engineer has a core role within the Airiam Professional Services department, with their primary focus being on client technology improvement projects. Airiam's Project Catalog ranges from operations such as upgrades of Windows server infrastructure (virtual and physical) to implementation of Microsoft Cloud SaaS technologies, from network security hardening to IAM solution implementation. Professional Services works in environments of varying scope and size, with primary customer focus being in the small to medium sized business where we act as primary escalation to an internal customer IT department (co-managed relationship). Project length can vary from four hours of work to hundreds of hours over the course of months.
