Job Description : Position Summary :

Position Summary :

Within General Procurement (GP), the job holder performs procurement activities within the assigned Regional Hub, using a regional and trans-divisional approach and taking into account the USA Airbus Group’s boundaries.

Primary Responsibilities :

Order & Receive Product / Service : 40%

  • Review, track and process Purchase Requests, ensuring correct payment terms, HMG and alignment with process.
  • Issue Purchase Orders
  • Support internal customer issues and training for the ordering process
  • Ensure that deliverables are in line with the contractual terms (cost, time, quality).

Drive Sourcing Projects : 25%

  • Obtain quotes and perform Requests for Information
  • Perform Call for Tenders with mainly regional focus within the scope of the Regional Hub.
  • Deliver on initiatives contributing to Airbus Group Savings Programs using the levers of requirements for harmonization / standardization, the challenge of the specifications, volume aggregation, and control of the demand to ensure achievement
  • Lead project teams within the framework of regional and / or single-division procurement projects, contribute to the control of the demand, challenge, approve the specifications and run the supplier selection processes within the defined boundaries.
  • Negotiate, establish and implement project contracts.
  • Monitor savings linked to demand management and procurement performance; contribute to secure and achieve Airbus Group Savings Program commitments.

Procurement Strategy and Compliance : 20%

  • Ensure compliance with the procurement strategy defined by the General Procurement Board (GPB) and the Multi-Functional Teams (MFT) within the scope of the Regional Hub.
  • Secure long-term alignment of the preferred supplier base with the long-term trans-national and trans-divisional strategic needs of Airbus Group.
  • Conduct the procurement process in order to fulfill business needs and provide internal customers with valued services in compliance with the General Procurement procedures and guidelines and with respective commodity strategies and boundaries defined by the Commodity Management Organization, to achieve customer satisfaction.
  • Provide the MFT’s and GPB with strategically relevant input to support strategy development.
  • Ensure compliance with General Procurement processes.
  • Respect and comply with rules and process defined by the Commodity Management organization to ensure correct execution of tactical and transactional procurement activities to full customer satisfaction.
  • Contribute to the implementation of new procurement techniques such as e-procurement and e-catalogues, as needed.

Supplier Management : 15%

  • Develop and maintain an efficient supply chain capable of delivering goods / work packages (services), matching Airbus Group requirements and business objectives.
  • Ensure continuous commercial relationships with suppliers in order to secure work with best-in-class suppliers and protect Airbus Group from contractual risks.
  • Support supplier setup process and ensure proper payment terms.
  • Follow-up contracts with contract reviews within Airbus Group’s internal customer base and suppliers, based on consistent and factual KPIs, evaluate and improve suppliers’ performance in terms of time, costs and quality.
  • Assess suppliers’ overall performance and the impact of weak performance on Airbus Group; and initiate recovery actions when necessary.

Job Dimensions, Contributions to Success :

  • Responsible for assisting internal customers with needs of external goods and services, and guiding them through the General Procurement process, typically dealing with, but not limited to, projects between $0 - $100k budget.
  • Maintains relationships with internal customers and suppliers

Involved, negotation type communication on a daily basis with internal and external parties

Physical Requirements :

  • Onsite : 80%
  • Vision : able to see and read computer screen and other electronic equipment with screens, able to read documents, reports and engineering drawings.
  • Hearing : able to hear to participate in conversations in person and via teleconference or phone and to hear sounds on production floor including safety warnings or alarms.
  • Speaking : able to speak in conversations and meetings, deliver information and participate in communications.
  • Equipment Operation (personal computer, telephone, copies, fax machine, and related office equipment and using electronic identification card to enter building floors and internal doors) : able to operate most office and personal electronic equipment and some tools including production tools such as hydraulic lifts.
  • Carrying : able to carry documents, tools, drawings, electronic equipment up to 30lbs / 14kgs.
  • Lifting : able to lift documents, tools, drawings, electronic equipment up to 30lbs / 14kgs.
  • Pushing / Pulling : able to push and pull small office furniture and some equipment and tools.
  • Sitting : able to sit for long periods of time in meetings, working on computer.
  • Squatting / Kneeling : able to squat or kneel to retrieve or replace items stored on low shelving.
  • Standing : able to stand for discussions in offices or on production floor.
  • Travel : able to travel independently and at short notice.
  • Walking (include routine walking such as to a shared printer to retrieve documents) : able to walk through office and production areas including uneven surfaces.
  • Personal Protective Equipment required : steel toed shoes are required for all shop floor visits; appropriate hearing / eye protection may also be required when visiting the shop floor
