The Air Force Test Center is looking for a Full-Time Senior Project Engineer (NH-1101-03) to work at the 96 TW Advanced Programs Management Office (96 TW/ AP) at Eglin AFB in Valparaiso, FL.

NO 6-MONTH WAIT! Recently retired and/or retiring from MILITARY service ARE eligible for immediate appointment for AFTC positions. The 180-day waiting period has been waived for AFTC to hire recently retired and/or retiring service members.

Incentives:

This position has a typical 2024 salary range of $86,962 - $134,435 (includes locality).

Position specific skills and experience desired in a potential candidate:

• 4 years of experience as Test Project Manager, Test Engineer, and/or Range Engineer Experience within Air Force Test Center enterprise desired

• Advanced knowledge of 96 TW Test Project Management processes and functional responsibilities of respective Groups/Squadrons within 96 TW is highly desired

• Understanding and routine use of various classified networks for data generation, analysis, and configuration control.

• Understanding, adherence and application of Security Classification Guides for various projects.

• Technical knowledge/experience implementing Special Access Program (SAP) Information highly desired

Mission: 96th Test Wing Mission Statement: We test and evaluate state-of-the-art weapon systems and cyber capabilities, provide quality installation and mission support, and serve as responsible stewards of our resources to deliver war-winning capabilities.

Purpose: Supports all DoD and US Government Classified, Sensitive and Unique test programs of the 96 TW in a Secure, Streamlined and Effective manner. Special Access Program (SAP) focal point for Eglin AFB. Provides wing resources planning, programming, budgeting and execution for SAP test at Eglin AFB. Provides test project management, engineering and execution for highest DoD priority programs under unique security conditions requiring advanced understanding of SAP policies, procedures and risks. Supports wing guidance and oversight on SAP physical, personnel, industrial and information security supporting multiple customers.

Major Duties:

• Plans, executes, and reports all aspects of developmental and operational T&E mission activities.

• Analyzes project / system capabilities and performance against customer requirements as it applies to various Service programs.

• Works independently both at the local USAF and DoD enterprise level to meet senior leader strategic direction as it applies to tactical mission management and execution.

• Routinely communicates with senior leaders on complex, technical topics including military system performance and program management updates.

• Understands and routine uses various classified networks for data generation, analysis, and configuration control.

• Understands, adheres and applies Security Classification Guidelines for various project materials.

• Supports the 96 TW/AP Director in creating products to inform senior leaders and define SAP resources to meet internal and external customer requirements

Qualifications/Requirements:

• Knowledge of program and project management concepts, principles, and techniques as applied to the development test and evaluation environment.

• Knowledge in weapon systems test and evaluation practices and procedures including knowledge of the various test facilities found in the Major Range Test and Facilities Base (MRTFB).

• Ability to understand overall project objectives and to coordinate the efforts of various functional disciplines (e.g., project control, operations, engineering, contracting logistics support, etc.) in order to ensure projects are developed and produced that meet customer content objectives within established cost and schedule parameters.

• Knowledge of the mission, roles, functions, organizational structures and operation of the DoD, Air Force and organizations that govern, interface with, and or influence the systems acquisition process, Civil Engineering, and Logistics Support.

• A professional engineering, business or management degree at the bachelor's level or higher is highly desired.

• U.S. Citizenship

• Obtain & maintain TS or TS/SCI (Sensitive Compartmented Information) security clearance and SAP eligibility.

• This is a designated Drug Testing Position

• Obtain & maintain Test & Evaluation Practitioner Level DAWIA Certification

• Subject to up to 1 week per month of Temporary Duty Assignment (TDY) per year
