As a member of the outpatient Bariatric health care team the Medical Assistant will work directly with the clinic team under the direct supervision of the Bariatric Clinic Coordinator, the Registered Nurse Bariatric Program Manager and/or the physician to support and ensure efficient operation of the Bariatric Clinic.
The MA will support staff and patients through a variety of tasks related to patient care management, organization and communication. While caring for patients in an outpatient clinic setting will work to promote a safe, comfortable environment that fosters the physiological and psychosocial well-being of the patient. Check-in patients, measure and document patient weight and vital signs. Conduct patient interview and document basic medical history. Give instructions to patients as instructed by physician. Organize and schedule appointments.
1 year experience in outpatient setting, Bariatric specialty preferred. Current certification as a Certified Medical Assistant in the State of California. Current BLS certification. Strong organizational skills to maintain effective and timely patient flow. Strong time-management skills, ability to multi-task and prioritize work. Service oriented and ability to work as a team member. Demonstrate excellent customer service and phone etiquette.
