AHC Cumberland is Hiring a Floor Technician Near Nashville, TN

Essential duties and responsibilities include the following.
  • Interpret work schedules and assignments.
  • Perform specific tasks in accordance with daily schedules.
  • Clean assigned zone, proceeding in an orderly manner and completing the job.
  • Properly set up appropriate “Caution” and safety signs before performing janitorial tasks. During cleaning process, monitor location of chemicals in order to protect the safety of patients by keeping chemicals being used in close proximity and in a locked container when the janitor is out of sight.
  • Before end of shift, recheck all areas to ensure proper order, cleanliness and completion of waste disposal.
  • Keep work areas free of hazardous conditions, spills, excess carts, buckets, supplies, equipment, etc.
  • Discard waste and trash into proper containers and line receptacles with plastic liners as appropriate and/or assigned.
  • Comply with established infection control and universal precaution practices, and coordinate routine/terminal isolation procedures with nursing services, as well as follow fire safety policies and procedures.
  • Report all incidents, accidents, hazardous conditions or equipment to supervisor immediately.
  • Report defective equipment or equipment in need of repair.
  • Encourage an atmosphere of optimism, warmth and interest in patients’ personal and health care needs.
  • Assure that work assignment areas are clean and that equipment, tools, supplies, etc. are properly stored during work periods, as well as before leaving the area for breaks, meals, and end of work day.
  • Turn in and/or report all lost and found items to supervisor.
  • Assist others in lifting heavy equipment, supplies, etc. as directed or requested.
  • Report the need of janitorial supplies.
  • Clean janitorial equipment, carts, etc.
  • Participate in and assist in departmental studies and projects as directed.
  • Assist with completion of appropriate forms and reports.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by supervisor.

Required Work Experience:
  • Minimum of six (6) months experience working in a nursing home, hospital, home health agency or other health care facility.
Education Requirements:
  • Minimum educational background of completing the eighth grade, a high school diploma preferred.
License/Certification Requirements:
  • None Required
Other Requirements:
  • Position may require unscheduled overtime, week-end work.
  • Must be willing and able to work flexible hours

Physical Requirements:
  • Job may require frequent lifting of objects up to 40 pounds.
