Job Title: Material Planning Supervisor

Summary of Position: (Brief description of overall responsibilities and function)

The Material Planning Supervisor has the responsibility to manage and control the activities and related results of a group of Material Planners that are responsible to specific commodities (Harnesses, Pipes, Interiors, Paint, Hardware).

Responsible for helicopter planning, materials availability, shortage reports, and inventory level for specific components in relation to the managed commodities. Performs planning for components, end-of-life inventory optimization, and safety stock level evaluation. The job duty includes day to day management of Materials Planners activities to align with Production and Company needs. Work closely with all stakeholder, including Manufacturing Engineering, Program Management, Production, Quality, Procurement and the external Suppliers. The Supervisor will provide to the Material Planning Senior Manager status updates, reporting, issues and risk mitigation related to the specific commodities. The Supervisor will also perform coordination with the Material Planning Managers of the different Product Lines (AW119, AW139, AW609), to make sure the commodities planning is aligned to the overall requirements.

The Commodities Planning Supervisor is accountable for guaranteeing the availability of the materials to the Production Line, at the right time and in the right quantities, by properly managing the MRP process, its input and output and its correct balance, being responsible of:

  1. Prompt availability in the system of all the material master data necessary for planning;
  2. Purchase Requisition, Work Orders, Transfer Orders, release and management processes (including also the repair management);
  3. Management of the goods deliveries to internal/external customers;
  4. Management of the proposals and requests for any outsourcing;
  5. Management of material excess issues;
  6. Resolving of Quality Notifications open at material incoming inspection, in direct coordination with the Supplier;
  7. Management of order book (POB’s) for rescheduling and/or cancelation as required upon MPP revisions and/or production schedule changes;
  8. Management of Purchase Orders expediting, interfacing directly with Suppliers in order to meet Production schedule;
  9. Management of Delivery Schedule Adherence (DSA) and Arrears, ensuring Supplier level of service is met.

BS or equivalent work experience in Supply Chain Management

B. Experience

Minimum 3 years in Materials Planning 

C. Competencies & Attributes

SAP, MRP, Excel, PPT 

D. Licensure/Certification

APICS CPIM, preferred
